I have all 3 as well... I would have to say that 360 is the best 'bang' for the buck at the moment, and it seems like 360s hardware problems are going to start fading soon. I hope your next 360 lasts awhile. Anyways, I wouldn't trade in the 360 yet A better time would be summer or so next year when PS3s lineup starts to grow.kidkit
I think you're right about the problems fading soon ... that is why I am tempted to trade this 360 and get a new one in a couple months. The ps3 .. to my knowledge has no consistent defect like the 360. I love my 360 but don't want another defective console.
I currently have a 360 but have been wanting a ps3. I have sent my 360 back for repair 3 times but have the warranty so it never costs me anything, however, my warranty expires in november and don't want to be stuck with a broken system. If I save up for a couple months I could probably buy a ps3 without trading my 360 ... or I could trade in all my 360 equipment and games to get a ps3 now and buy a newer model 360 in a couple months. My question is ... to dual system owners ... which do you have more fun with? I know a few games I'd like to buy for the playstation 3 but the 360 has an awesome lineup just around the corner. If you could only have one system for the next ... say 3 months ... which would it be?mars_elliot
To be fair you could probably trade in your 2nd hand problematic 360 and all the games etc for a brand newPS3 and get quite a bit off your Ps3. Your 360 is now 3 gen almost with the Elite and new HDMI version of the premium nowout. Should you want a 360 again buy one again later with a new less faulty hardware. I have all 3 systems and by far prefer the PS3. Better 'out of the box' facilities and the games will come thick and fast! The PS3 is just a better more effective piece of kit and the Blu-ray films look incredible. Exchange your old 360 and get as much off a PS3 as you can. A friend of mine swapped his old 360+10 games and another wireless controller and got a brand new PS3, 3 games, additional controller and 2 games, plus HDMI cable and remote control for £100!!! DEAL!
Right now I have more fun with my 360 to be honest. I love my PS3, but the only thing I play is Ninja Gaiden Sigma & PS2 games that I missed out on. And as far as games to come in the near future, the only thing that's look good as far as exclusives on the PS3 is Lair. I do say get a PS3 because games will come one day, but if you have a 360 you can get most of what you'll find on the PS3 with what you already have.
Oh I may get Warhawk later this month too, so I'm hoping that will hold me over.
If you're getting PS3 now, there aren't many games to play to be honest. But starting next year, PS3 should be have enough library to keep you occupied. Right now I got RROD on my X360, and still deciding whether should I get a new one or not, I voided the warranty :p. But incase if I do want to get a new one, I'm waiting for the problems with RROD and other stuff to be solved first. It's kinda difficult to play a console which may break down on you at anytime.
If you don't mind playing PS2 games and a bit of PS3 games while waiting for the PS3 library to built up, then by all means get the PS3, sell your X360 and wait for a better version.
well take care of your system(360) and youll be fine, since it doesnt seem like you have been, otherwise if you go PS3 it will be a long 3 months, since there are NO games for that systemPMatt722
I don't think it's because he's been abusing it. They are defective by design. Anyway there are plenty of games coming in just the next few weeks let alone the next 3 months. Warhawk, Lair, and Heavenly Sword are all coming out in just weeks, not months. And I'm personally looking forward to Unreal Tournament and Haze.
I am just wondering how your warranty exprires in November It wont even be 3 years from release in November right? Maybe I am missing something. Its only been out now for what, just less than 2 years right?danjammer69
The 3yr warranty only covers red ring of death, any of the other issues that are happening with the system. The big one the DVD drive problems are still only 1 year.
Ahhh, well now it makes sense. You know what...? I think its great they extended the warranty, but I still think its a bit shady to cover only certain parts of the machine. It should be a full 3 year warranty. But it still is much better than what they originally gave out.
Thanks for clearing that up.
I love both systems. This year, I am most excited fomr Bioshock and Mass Effect, both X360 exlusives. However, the next most interesting games for me are all Ps3: Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Lair, and Heavely Sword. The final echelon of games I am interested in are on both, so no difference there. I love the feel of the Classic Sony controller (although the SIXAXIS is a little light) andBlu-ray is beautiful. I love my X360 as well, but I have let my XBOX live Gold expire since I can play online on the PSN for free. I downloafrom XBOX Live because it goes quicker, but game online on the PS3.
Bottom line, with both systems, you have the best of both worlds, both now, and for the future.

i like your second plan, i am waiting to buy 360 when the new chips come out

If you want the better console for the next 3 months I honestly have to admit that you should get another 360. Bioshock, Halo 3, and Mass Effect are THE holy trinity of games for 2007. SONY has a strong lineup for 2007, but it isn't nearly as top heavy as the 360 lineup. Although I have a feeling Unreal Tournament 3 is really going to stick it to Halo 3 with respect to online gameplay.
The PS3 is a really awesome piece of hardware. Once you get one and start to use it, you'll realize that the 360 is like a toy in comparison. If you have a nice HDTV, the Blu-Ray player really maximizes your investment. As with a 360, you can stream you movies, music, and photos to your HDTV via your PS3.
The thing is...while Microsoft has the top heavy lineup this year, SONY has the top heavy lineup next year with Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, and Gran Turismo 5. Other exclusive games that should be out next year are Tekken 6, Infamous, The Agency, and Little Big Planet. Last, but not least, there is a chance, small chance, that Final Fantasy XIII will be out by the end of next year. The Japanese version that is...Of course GTA IV will also be out next year.
I really don't know of any games that excite me for the 360 next year. Alan Wake looks good, but in comparison to MGS 4, I could care less.
I have a feeling over the years I'll be using my 360 less and less because I am worried that it will break. Also, I envision that third party games will begin to be built on the PS3 and then ported to 360. 9 vs 50 gigs is a BIG difference that developers should consider using. I'll probably stick with the 360 for the majority of sports games, FPS, and exclusives.
It is worth owning both consoles if you are a big gamer, but if I had to choose one and only one, I'd keep my PS3. No question.
I hope you know that the warranty for ALL 360s was extended to 3 years from the date of purchase. That should keep your system running longer than just through November.
Anyway, I probably spend an equal amount of time on the 360 and the PS3. However, when it comes to future games, the only ones I'm really looking forward to on the 360 are Mass Effect, Halo 3, BioShock and Fable. PS3 on the other hand has Ratchet & Clank, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Hot Shots Golf, MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone, Gran TUrismo, Final Fantasy, God of War and the eventual sequels to Motorstorm and especially Resistance.
Sony's consoles have always had a more broad variety of exclusives thanks to Sony's massive list of first party developers. If anything, this console generation is going to make more gamers go broke with all of the great games on each system. Even the Wii is starting to look pretty tempting with Metroid, SSBB and Mario Galaxy coming out this year.
Come on, unless your a fanboy you would no the 360 has the better games out so far, and has the better line up of games getting released this year. paul265
Huh?? Halo & Bioshock (which is now being rumored to come out for PS3 after the holidays) are the big x360 games. I think with Warhawk, Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament, Haze, Medal of Honor: Airborne and SOCOM all coming to PS3 before the holidays I have more than enough FPS to take care of me on PS3. Now let's look at action games: Lair, Heavenly Sword, Rathet and Clank, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. What AAA Action titles do you have on X360 now or coming out? chirp chirp

I personally play my 360 more, but that is just because it has Guitar Hero II. If it didn't have that, it would just collect dust.

Halo is published by microsoft it will never go to the ps3 even if it loses money. Only 3rd party games have a chance of going to another console not 1st party. Thats like saying mario or zelda will come to the ps3.If you owned a 360 or have even bothered to look at the upcoming 360 games you would'nt have to ask what AAA games are coming out for the 360.

Please re-read my post. Sorry for the confusion. Was referring to Bioshock coming to PS3. Obviously Halo will stay on X360, although I'm sure it will eventually come to PC too so they push their "games on Windows" initiative.
My thoughts are that for some it would be worth it to have both. Although, the idea of trading it in now (thus knocking down the price of the PS3), waiting, and finally getting a 360 once the newer (more reliable) systems hit the market pick one of those up. They've already added HDMI to the Pros, too, so it may be worth the wait. If I had to choose just one, I'd go with thePS3 personally, largely because it has more built in functionality and although there may not be the largest lineup of games available right now, they are going to start pouring in soon. Combined with a decent computer, no less, and I have plenty of games to look forward too (such as the afore mentioned Bioshock, b/c that is NOT an exclusive guys).
If nothing else, though, with both/all systems your selection of future purchases is limited more by your budget and time than it is by system.

Here is a quick guide:

I just got my PS3 and it's a great system. I also have the 360 and i think that's a great system as well. They both have advantages and disadvantages.. If you can afford games for both then I highly recommend buying both systems. If you only have enough for one then I would go with the 360, just because the game lineup is better in my opinion, for now. I'm sure that will change in a year or two.
