Losing DMC4 changes NOTHING.

This is a game series that was ok to begin with...people go well only two left FFXIII and MGS4...ummmhow about MGS4, FFXIII, FF versus XIII, Jak and Daxter, GT, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, Silent Hill 5, Warhawk, God of War 3, the improved version of Oblivion (the only good next gen console RPG out right now), and to top it all off we have all these games too! We get GTA IV, DMC4, RE5, Unreal 3, Red Faction 3 and all these other great games too...on top of that we get HOME...so how is it that people are talkin all this "oh well sell my PS3" garbage? BOTH major consoles have been out for less than two years...one only a couple of months...you selling your PS3 now is beyond dumb....and the biggest victim will be you one year from now. (go ahead make jokes about good games coming in one year...because when they come it will be painfully obivious to you for the next five years you made a mistake.) Anyways!! PEOPLE REJOICE!!! THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!! :D

Nice attempt at making yourself feel better about buying a ps3. I do agree that talk of people selling there ps3's over todays news is rediculous though, last week everyone was rejoicing over home and biglittleplanet, funny how the mood changes. Personally im waiting and not rushing out and buying a ps3 at launch, ive got god of war 2 and stalker to look forward to soon. Ill sit back and watch how the ps3 does for abit.

i rember when i said devil may cry looks pretty good ton of fanboys yelled at me and said that game suck were i bet they never playeditfor they just played the 2nd 1. now every 360 fanboy is saying how happy they are about dmc. dmc was not a big titile for me.iwishiwasrich

Well you know what's the problem? MGS4 is slated for late 2007-- which I can deal with. FFXIII is expected in early 2008, Gran Turismo 5 is set for a 2008 release, and we won't see God of War III until at least 2009. Some of these big title exclusives are slated for a release date of 2008. I am sure Kojima is true on his word MGS4 will be coming out in 2007, I am just angry there isn't really a lot of justification for future adopters. You may think it changes nothing, but it pretty much swayed a few people waiting to get a PS3 for DMC4 now people will go for the 360 version. I know I will now-- because it has more incentives to play like achievement points, and people who want to buy a $200 less console will be more appealing.mjf249

Losing exclusive titles is NEVER good news for a system.

Same thing happened when Saturn was dying. Remember Tomb Raider? That was supposed to be Saturn exclusive.

When has hardware ever been a factor for gamers? PS1 PS2 SNES were all not the most powerful system at the time. PS1 had N64  as more powerful machine, PS2 had Xbox, and SNES had Neo Geo. However none of it mattered because those system simply had more games than other systems and games you couldn't find in other systems.

Now if you can get most of the games coming out on PS3 and get to choose from exclusive titles thats not too shabby on 360, what's the point of getting PS3? Losing DMC3 shows lack of trust from developers as well. When the developers aren't trusting the company, why should us the consumers put their trust in Sony? Buying a console early is an investment. An investment of predicting that the system will be worth it because there will be plenty of games to play on it. Because we don't know how many games will be released on PS3, only handful that is announced at early stage of PS3 lifespan. If games constantly jump to Xbox 360,eventually people will buy more Xbox 360 and less PS3, and why shouldn't they? Microsoft is giving consumers sense of security that they will get plenty of games while Sony is just making PS3 owners look like fools for picking a console that has games that will or already on some other system. People buy consoles for games, not hardware specs. Hardware specs are for PC.

Here's how I see it, we traded DMC4 and Ace Combat as exclusives for Oblivion (and possibly Lost Planet and Dead Rising, which I doubt). A pretty good trade IMO. stl_rams28

It would be a lie for me to say that losing DMC4 means nothing to me.  I really enjoyed playing the first one and even though the second one totally ruined the series, the third game did enough for me to look forward to DMC4.  However, I do agree with you on the rest.  Sony still has the best first-party titles and they look really great.  MGS4 and FF13 are the biggest of all the third-party games and personally I don't think they would get ported over but I was wrong with DMC4 so I can't really guarantee anything.  I can guarantee however that Square-Enix and Konami care more about the qualities of their games than Capcom does.  Even if things go the worst way possible, we will always have the God of War series.
