its using the same graphics engine as resident evil 5 so no. I found it fun, but it has no storyline so i wont buy full retail price. I fou To me i think its graphics king, and it does have a storyline

How could you tell if this game has a storyline or not? Its not even out yet. from the demo there was no cut scenes or anything, so from what i got its just another shooter. umm... cutscenes dont need to be in a demo. I mean look at the demo for the first Ninja Gaiden Sigma. That only had boss introductions and they had that in LP2.

This was my first time playing a lost planet game, and I was impressed by the presentation. The game does an excelent job of bringing the world to life.
The boss was epic... the sheer size, being able to jump on top of it, INSIDE of it, it's so fun!

damn you can go inside of it!? Im gonna do that right now! lol Ya I think he can swallow you or he falls with his mouth open and you jump in... if you don't die inside of him he poops you out, lol.
I was very pleased with the demo- I liked in the second stage that if you took a side path, you could completely bypass a huge enemy that is in hiding. My biggest issue is that, as of now, there's no local co-op. I only know one person living in the same country as I that has a PS3 and it would require that he gets the game as well. The demo was fun with one person but that boss is pretty tough alone- local co-op ensures that I can have someone playing with me. I read that local play was a "maybe," so I'm hopeful. Still, I almost didn't download this demo since the previous LP demo sucked so much. I love the Monster Hunter-ish gameplay.

It was a bit glichty... but its a demo. (still upset me when my gun stopped making sound effects) It took longer to arrive on PSN then Live but its twice as long as the Live version. This game was always a first day purchase and the demos and trailers made sure of that...

Actually, one of the other things the game really could use is completely customizable controls. I don't know if it's just me, but I find the controls to be very unintuitive out of the box- do we really need a quick turn to occupy two buttons while zoom-in is on the d-pad?
Reason it had no story? It's a small section of the game, and in the first Lost Planet, you normally only get cut scenes before, and after, levels. When you start the demo, there will have been a cut scene with story before it. Just after, there will also be a cut scene. Not confirmed, but it's a very, very similar layout to the first one so they're probably pretty good predictions. I also found it didn't need cut scenes most of the time. A lot of it worked so well cinematically just playing normally and added a lot more to it. You were practically playing the cut scene. [SPOILERS FOR MGS4 (IT IS RELATED!) - - - - - - That bit where Raiden takes down all the Gecko's is an amazing fight scene, and I bet everyone wished you could play that bit. or any of the other cut scenes, in fact. Well in Lost Planet 2, you CAN. Big Monsters aren't a walk in the park with the finishing move done by the AI - all done yourself. Apart from being extremely satisfying, it makes the game very unique in that aspect - - - - - - - - [SPOILERS OVER] As for my views on the demo... fantastic! It's FUN! The shooting felt more like shooting - sounding much better and you can kind of fell the force of the bullets. Tweaks to controls and weapons are superb - although not liking the delay to picking up weapons. VS' also seem a lot more weakened since I got destroyed nearly everytime. I also liked the variety to the killing - the first one was just shoot weak spot, dodge, shoot weak spot etc.. Although that was actually fun, it needed something else. The fact that monsters are more dynamic in there movement and you can go inside adds a whole new level to fighting them. The co-op also feels great - especially when you work together.
