I thought it looked good on the other console. As long as we get a soild port of the game, I will pick it up.

The 360 version sold over 1 million in its first few months.
I bought it at launch and if the port is handled well i'd reccomend it to anyone with a ps3 that like shooters/action adventure.
It has beautiful graphics even compared with late 07 game's so enviroments are amazing, IMO excellent boss battle's against huge enemie's using huge guns and mechs(i say IMO as some people found the boss battles too old school and derivitive).
Decent plot story(nothing oscar worthy but competent IMO).
Depending on your taste you will either love-like-hate the multiplayer, i was not too keen on it but me and a few pals had 10-20 hours of fun playing it.
Overall i would have scored it 8/8.5/10.
It's well worth checking out if someone needs a new game to fill the gap between some big releases, and if capcom release this as a budget $35-$40 title it would be a bargain.

since uve played it....hows the online? and the online options, ie. modes, splitscreen, lag...etc
Infact lost planet made a profit within several days selling over 1 million in the u.s and europe also it reached this number by only being on sale 1 day in europe.

Capcom were hoping for sales of around 750,000 for lost planet so IMO i'd say it was far from a flop and was quite an early next gen success for capcom along with dead rising, and IMO i think the reason dmc 4 is hitting the 360 was due to high sales of all capcom games on 360.

The online component is something ps3 owners should research if there wanting a good multi-player aspect with your games.
It's been a while since i played the multiplayer but i had around 20 hours of fun with LP's MP, not much for a multiplayer game but to me it was allot more than i expected before buying the game.
I bought the game strictly for a single player expierence and IMO the single player was worth the £32($60) i paid for it, but me and a few friends decided to team up and try out the multiplayer and we ended up playing it for a few hours a night fora week or two.
LP's MP has a few different mode's basicly standard MP mode's.
Team elimination: Team death match
Elimination:Deathmatch
Post grab:Capture the flag
Fugitive: The host becomes the fugitive, while other players hunt that person down,To win , the fugitive must evade the hunters untill the time limit is up, or build up your battle gauge to maximum.(The fugitive builds battlegauge by moving and/or defating hunters) for their part, hunters must find the fugitive and run that persons battle gauge down to zero.
Im pretty sure theres no split-screen.
Theres some mild characther cutomization/voice chat.
I never expierenced any noticable lag while playing lost planet.
It's been nearly a year since i played it so i had to get the info from the instruction book, i couldnt remember what modes it had.
Anyway PS3 only owners should check it out if they enjoy(and can put up with the games flaws)thrid person action adventure shooters/mech shooter/ beautiful graphics/classic boss battles/Huge boss battles/decent story/decent enemy ai/mechs get a bit repetitive/multiplayer is competent/sound is excellent/gun play is very satisfying/mech gun play is good.
All in all its a very good game and worth the purchase IMO(maybe not for full price if its released around the same time as games like GTA4/MGS4/KZ2/GT5/DMC4) but if its released for around $40 and comes out during a dry spell i'd say buy it, if its full price and comes squezzed in between mgs4/gta4/burnout/dmc etc i'd say rent it.
I loved the game when I played the demo. Got the game when it came out and was kinda disappointed. The pacing is a bit slow because you're constantly trudging through snow. The graphics are really good, mech animations are great, some monsters are awesomely huge...but for me the pacing really threw the whole experience off.emitsu97
Yeah that was something i forgot about.
Allot of people disliked lost planet because of how slow it seems, just walking 100-200 yards seems like a harsh treck, and this was the main reason the multi-player was disliked walking through the 2-3 foot deep snow makes the player move slow and slugishly, you can use mechs allot of the time to get around.
It never really bothered me during the single player, i never really thought about it as it just seemed right that i'd be walking slow in thick snow, but in multi-player i really noticed it.
I hated it. Srsly I played till the 5th level, and was completly over itso Isold it on Ebay.
Lost Planet can die.

So you must have played the game on the lowest setting or used cheats because I don't see how anyone who played the game on hard mode can say the pacing is slow. If you aren't constantly shooting something to get Thermal energy then you are going to die pretty soon. There is always action other than the long cut scenes ... if that is what you meant then yes I do agree that the cut scenes just take you out of the game for too long usually.
how do you consider selling over a million copies and averaging 8 out of 10 a flop? I have this game for the 360 and its a good game. Definately better than the frustrating garbage that is Dead Rising... what a disappointment that was :(.ajefferism
i agreee DEAD rising sucks... Lost planet FTW
[QUOTE="Generic_Dude"]I thought this game was garbage. I'd rather see them re-release Dead Rising with co-op or extra missions or something.SOedipus
I agree.
Sorry guys I have to disagree. Dead Rising has some of the worst NPC AI EVER in a game, survivors just LOVED running right into a pack of Zombies, constantly. The timer system was ANNOYING - its a sandbox game, I WANT TO EXPLORE! I hated the fact you had to keep running around picking up the same equipment again and again because it constantly breaks (YES, i know its realistic - but since when does realism equal fun???) The save system SUCKED - having to restart a game 2 or 3 times so you have enough life, equipment slots, just to get past a certain point/boss in the game is LAME. if they would have removed the timer you could go around and build up your levels at your leisure without having to restart a few times. The way they had you get new missions through the janitor calling you was VERY ANNOYING too. I'd be in the middle of a boss fight and he would call me... and if i didnt answer i woulldnt be able to get the mission... again LAME. The only thing i can say that game had going for it was the graphics and the fact that there were so many zombies to kill in a mall. I cant give that game anything higher than a 7 out of 10 or so. Had such a great concept but I really think they made huge mistakes with some major design decisions.

85% (Dead Rising) > 79% (Lost Planet) - Gamerankings
