When the psp loads a disc are you supposed to be able to hear it? I got my first psp yesterday and its really load when it loadeds discs. At first I thought it was gonna ruin the disc but it still played and the back didnt get any scratches. Did I get a defective one or am I overreacting?
You SHOULD hear some disc spinning. I mean, every console that runs on a disc does it. Its just that, not you are holding it close to your face, it makes it easier to hear.

Ya, I just got mine yeasterday too and I noticed the same thing. I wasn't worried though. You should be alright.
