Sony's video game console has always been improved and surprise us with an awesome new console. ps3 is a huge step forward from its previous console ps2.

ps3 has improved graphics, online feature and its service. There is one awesome thing that ps3 has, which ps2 is completely lacking, is this awesome Ylod.

Ylod is a brand new feature which makes ps3 became completely useless after only a few years of use. It's fun to have a dead console and you loss the system and be force to buy a new one in order to play it again. Now i cannot wait for ps4's Super Ylod, that would be awesome to see the console not only overheat for 3 months of use, but also burning my house as well.

We got the original in '07 and it died in '10 I think. Sucked too since that was our PS3 and PS2, and the new PS3's don't play PS2 games. :(

Luck?? really?? I heard from the shop that a lot of people bringing back their Ylod ps3 to the shop. I been taking good care of my ps3 more than ps2 and the old xbox, and i have never even clean those systems once and those still work for about 8 to 10 years now.

ps2 is 100x reliable than the ps3, true story! The ps2 disc read error is so easy to fix clean the laser lens and it reads cd all the time, whereas the Ylod is impossible to fix, there is temporary fix but that is not really a fix because it will damage the system even more i heard.

Oh I defiantly believe it can happen, in fact with how often I leave it on to download I'm amazed it hasn't already. Should it die, I have no problem buying a new one ASAP. I've gotten my money out of it.

I got my 60 gig back in end of 06 and it got the YLOD just 2 weeks ago, it would have been worse if it died when only the really plastic looking super slim ps3's are available lol cant stand that slide top. i'm now using the 320 slim :(

Yeah, really. If you take care of your console(s) and it breaks unexpectedly despite you taking care of it...um, what else do you attribute it breaking down to? Your good maintenance of it? Hardly.

I've been nervous about it since I first started using my PS3, but luckily it's still working. My Gamecube and other older systems still work fine though after many years of use.

That's the funny thing about game consoles. The more advanced they get, the easier they malfunction and break. I've already had to replace my Wii, and my PS3 just died last week. Meanwhile my N64 and Gamecube are still running like champs after years of play.

No worries! Just be a little more patience and it will soon come my friend! If you're too impatience just heat up and dust it. Ylod is beautiful!!

I got my 60gb fat at launch. I transport my systems quite often and feared the YLOD so when the slim came out and Gamestop offered that sweet $200 trade in offer for fats, I jumped on it. I figured $100 was worth not worrying about the fat breaking, I got to transfer all my saves and got a new controller out of the deal. Now that the super slim is out and Gamestop is running another trade in bonus of 100%, I'm thinking of doing it again.

Dude, if you took sony and ps3 out of your post you could just about name "ANY" electronic company and make the same case. I feel for ya bro "BUT" it's an electronic device...these things happen.

But at least the PS3 failure rate is still lower then "you know who"

Also, TC "forgot" to mention 360's RROD or the BSOD of the PC. If you need to ask what BSOD is, you've never experienced it.
