um i like sony.babenjorgeUm, I like Sony too. But if someone came out with something better, I would buy it and say "To Hell with Sony" Why would I buy an inferior product just for the sake of being "brand loyal" Right now, I believe that Sony has the best product. It has nothing to do with loyalty.
Being loyal to a single console severely limits your access to really great ganes, That's gaming on their terms, The way I see it, if I put the cash on the line to buy a system that company needs to be loyal to me.bdhoffI completely agree, they should be LOYAL to ME. So far, all I've got is some great games, free online, wifi, and blu-ray.
My loyalty to sony is fading away, I'm a playstation fan, hell I even waited in line for Ps3, I've never owned an Xbox and didn't want one, but for the 1st time ever I have to admit Sony's messing up. and xbox has good games. I'm so dissappointed in sony And I wanted to see if you guys share that dissapiontment as well. let me knowRomelooIf that's how you feel then fine. SOny is a billion dollar company and, whether this is good or not, won't be fazed by the loss. The system just came out and I'll remind you that at this same time period after thatbox's launch their library wasn't all that stellar either. 3rd party exclusives are gone. This is not unique to Sony but all players today. The hardware [PS3] is so new that it has yet to be tapped yet. It is still a blu-ray format which allows for bigger games and certain games are going to have no choice but to come out on PS3. But if you're that shaken then by all means, exercise your right and get something else. I plan on getting thatbox for their one big game but I read the specs and know PS3 to be the more powerful system. It's just going to take developers time to unleash all its potential.
Loyalty to Sony? What? Why? What has Sony ever done for you? Next time you're hungry or you can't pay your rent, go ask Sony to return the favor for your "loyalty". Give me a break. You make it sound like you made this huge sacrifice by waiting in line for your PS3. You did it because you wanted to do it. You paid $600. You don't OWE Sony anything. Trust is a different story. I trust that Sony builds a quality product because every Sony product I own has been phenominal. I TRUST that Sony knows what they are doing when it comes to building consoles because they've PROVEN that they have success at it. I TRUST Sony when they say that they built the PS3 for the long term. That is why I bought the PS3. I bought it because I trust Sony's quality, and I believe in their strategy of building a superior machine and selling it a fair price. That belief is only supported by the fact that it is selling faster than the competition and there are games on the horizon that will start to utilize the PS3's advanced capabilities. Across the way, I see the competition selling an inferior machine and then charging me for things like WiFi and online play. I see a future of games that will require the advanced hardware that Sony's competition doesn't have. I can't TRUST their machine to be there for me, playing the greatest games in two to three years from now. In the gaming world, the only LOYALTY you have is to yourself. If you REALLY enjoy games, then you owe it to yourself to make sure you have the hardware that is going to bring you the most satisfying gaming experience for the longest possible time. Whichever company makes that console is irrelevant.ghaleon0721

well put and sony after market service is excellent when my ps2 broke next day service no questions then again it lasted longer than my 360 which lasted 10 mins and then they said i have to wait for them to send a courier which could take a week wasnt veryĀ happy Ā
Being loyal to a electronics company is kinda silly dont cha think? I love Apple but i also own a PC and Im happy with which ever.nosedive51It's not silly at all. In our consumer driven economy we all (for the most part) have limited funds so loyalty is going to naturally occur. Some are loyal to one newspaper over another, one sports outlet over another, one auto company over another, etc etc. It's only natural for someone to say they're "loyal" to a company in making a decision as to whether to give more than 1/2 a thousand dollars to that company over another. When he says loyal I don't think he means that he sleeps eats and breaths Sony but when it comes to deciding which company to back for gaming he's going to stick with the one that has not (up until recently I guess) let him down.

Don't let the 9million Xbots convince you otherwise. They are just upset because they don't have the best system anymore.
I would even say Sony has the better games already.
What does Xbox have for fighting?? PS3 has Virtual Fighter 5 the best fighting game ever
What does Xbox have for Racing?? Motorstorm and F1 are currently the best racing games out
First person shooter?? This is the Xbox strongpoint but I'd put Resistance up with the best of them
Roleplaying?? Oblivion, but it's faster loading and looks better on PS3. Second it comes with the expansion included, which you have to pay for on X360.
We also have most of the popular X360 games too, Need for Speed: Carbon, Blazing Angels, Fight Night, etc.Ā
I felt the same about ps2. imo, ps2 sucked for a year and then a year after its release it started to become one of the best video games consoles ever. I say give it time to prove itself.SinheartI remember when I first got my PS2 all that was available was NBA street and some game by Square called the Bouncer. The pickings were, as you said, slim at best. The change started IMO when (inronically enough) Metal Gear and GTA 3 came out. PS3 is really really young. People just expect so much because it's Sony, the PS2 was a monster success, and the fake KillZone video has us all dreaming of what could be. In addition to this, I think we all got a little spoiled with the exclusives that we once enjoyed on our PS2s. Ā Ā
C'mon man. I shelled out more than I've ever spent in my life on a system to fully enjoy my PS3. I think I and anyone that spent that much have the right to be a little impatient. For the money we spent I think it's fair to say we expected something tangible by now. We're still going on promises of what will be. I think the majority of us look at Gears and wonder when our graphical ground breaking visual killer app is coming. It's not that unreasonable.Everyone on this forum is very impatient.

You just put your foot in your mouth. You're asking when we're getting our gears, but 360 didn't get Gears until a year after its launch. So, yes, you're being impatient. You are true in saying that we've spent a lot of money on our relative PS3's (yes, I own one, and I love it), but that's why Sony includes full BC in NTSC regions, and a respectable amount in PAL regions. You can play your PS2 games on your PS3 as well as play the handful of very good games for the PS3 as well.Ā
The PS2 took LONGER to have awesome games. Everyone is being impatient because NOW there's competition. Sony has a long-term plan, and let me tell you, its a doozy. I'm happy to wait, and to be honest, our launch lineup as well as our future lineup for the next few months beats 360 anyday. The 360 has 1 highly rated game on us, THAT'S IT! 1 GAME!
If you are THAT impatient, seriously, just trade in your PS3 for a 360. Everyone here will be waiting for you when you come crawling back in a few after your 360 breaks a few hundred times.Ā
Wery well put, every word

hmmmmm...
I am loyal to sony...But to a certain extent. As long as Sony maintains the quality we have all come to expect i am quite sure that no one will be left disappointed when the ps3 finally hits its pinacle. As for now we ALL need to have a little patience:
1.)Ā Sony fans who find their loyalty shifting- Allow the developers time with the machine, allow the machine some time to have its specs fully utilised.
2.)Ā Fanboys who criticise itsĀ potential and rumage endlessly through website after website in order to find irrelevent articles that relate to something bad on sony's behalf. I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but forcing your opinions on others is blatantĀ fanboyism...in a bad wayĀ
So wait a while, enjoy what your ps3 can do...because it will eventually do alot more
Sorry to hear you are dissapointed, but you, like everyone else, need to wait a few months. For the love of God its only been out forĀ a few months! X360 sucked in its first semi-annual period so give it a year and then see how our beloved PS3 compares to the 360 and the fad that is the Wii.SkyCastleDanWrong. If you check GameStats.com (compiles reviews and gives an average score), 360 was already well into double digits in the number of games that received an 8.0 or better by the end of March 2006 (3 over 9.0 averages). Its now the end of March 2007, and the PS3 has a whopping 6 rated above 8.0 on average (ZERO above 9.0).
That's what you get for rushing on a line to get a system without doing your homework.Ā I'm thinking that many just wanted to be in some elite statusĀ or be the first to get the new toy on the block (Not all of you, but the majority).Ā All I hear is that you all just use the PS3 to playĀ PS2 games.Ā IMO, I think you bought the system too soon if you use it to play PS2 games.Ā If I get a PS3, I will use it to play PS3 games.Ā PS2 games will be the thing of the past.Ā Similar to how NES was a great 8-bit systemĀ till I got a Genesis, and from GEN to PSone, PSone to PS2, etc.Ā I move forward and never look back.Ā Sony owes you nothing (They just got your $600).Ā You bit the bullet (hype)Ā and now all you can doĀ play your PS2 games on your PS3 or just have it look nice as aĀ display or an exhibitĀ in your living room.Ā

Hey, there's nothing wrong being loyal to anyone.Ā That is your choice.Ā You have the freedom to be as loyal to anything as you want.Ā Let's just hope that when a company or your football team is successful, they mention you, personally, as part of the reasons for their success.Ā I am loyal to Sony in which I have never bought an Xbox.Ā But, if they falter down the line in not making the very best games or there are issues with the PS3, you can rest assured that I'll jump ship to a company that makes top of the line systems and games.Ā Jumping ship does not mean which system sells th most.Ā It means which company can deliver the very best in making my gaming experience fun and enjoyable.Ā
Im loyal to River which is my fav football team, Im loyal to my country, what have they done for me? nothing, so why is it wrong to be loyal to a company? Im loyal to Sony, not blind but loyal. Is there something wrong? no, unless you are too stupid to not notice that sport teams and countries are also companieskenshinhimura16
That is silly to say.Ā That a real gamer would buy 360 or PS3.Ā You call the Wii a piece of crap, is that because you played it or you are just bashing it for no reason?Ā And just because someone has the Wii doesn't mean they can't afford theĀ other systems.Ā It seems that those Wii gamers are having much more fun playingĀ games than any of us at this time.Ā
Indeed there is a little bit of bad news about but none the less XBOX 360 still has it's launch failures ( Only seldomly are good units on the floor, my friend is on his 4th XBOX 360 despite this it's still a good system ) and PS3 has proven to be seldomly flawed if not at all since Sony is tight on quality control.Ā Wii is nothing but a peice of crap for people who can't afford a real gaming machine like XBOX 360 or PS3 and love obselete technology ( Motion sensing? a 529mb internal hard drive? you'd scare people in 1988.. which did I mention is the only friggin era of games that system has so it's quite suited for it ) or just flat out have too much money to waste.Ā Any real gamer would go for XBOX 360 or PS3.Kosai_Avonej

Those are nice opinions, and the 360 is getting VIRTUA(not virtual, some fan you are) Fighter as well.Umm, they wouldn not rule out the sales figures for Xbox from the launch yearĀ to the sales figures of the PS3 in its launch year.Ā That's how you measure a products pace of how well or bad they are doing?Ā Why would anyone compare two products in which one was released a whole year later (PS3), which would be clear that the product released earlier (360)would always have an edge in sells?Ā Now that doesn't make any sense.Ā That's like saying it wouldn't make sense if they compared how well RandyĀ Moss didĀ his first three yearsĀ in the league to Jerry Rice's first three seasons.Ā Ā Ā They entered the league in different time periods but they would always be comparedĀ on how well they did for the same fixed amount of times in their careers.
