I'm downloading the MAG beta right now but the download seems to be going extemely slow. i downloaded the inital part from PSN and the update after that but the larg 2 gig update is going very slow. i downloaded the inital and 1st update at close to 1MB/sec but now it's taking good minute to download a megabyte. anyone else have this problem or is it just me

yeah the update is slow but don't worry if you get a discconected error. The next time you start it up again, what ever you have downloaded before should redownload super fast. I suggest you do it in parts, so you won't overheat your PS3.

yeah the update is slow but don't worry if you get a discconected error. The next time you start it up again, what ever you have downloaded before should redownload super fast. I suggest you do it in parts, so you won't overheat your PS3.Sk8ter_213

I keep getting an error when I try to download the update. Does anyone know how to avoid this? I've tried everything I can think of... initially had a wireless connection... moved the modem, and tried it with a wired connection... but I still get the same error.

The error probably is with your router and it's settings. You need to have certain things enabled. Try this. http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connecttest.html sorry I can't make it clickable, stupid phone. Oh and unrelated, PSN is down for maintenance today from 8:00 PST time. Add three hours for EST time. So, is this to prepare for the new wave of PS3 owners or just a giant middle finger to a slim owners? And no, 3.0 isn't coming out today, they stated that it's still slated for September.

I think the problem is with the MAG network because I can get online with the store or any other game. I'll keep trying... hopefully today's PSN maintainance will solve my problems.

You would have recieved an email inviting you to the beta. Then you would be asked to fill out a questionaire... after this you will be sent another email letting you know if you're in the beta or not. If you haven't gotten the first email by now, you probably aren't going to.

This is true - however, there is speculation of additional waves of invites, but I can't confirm. I have still yet to actually play it - haven't made it past the character creation part as their servers are normally unavailable every time I've tried to play. This after it took like a few days minimum to get everything downloaded and installed. Maybe I'm just unlucky with this lol

Also, you can only download the updates when the servers are up. Times that servers are up is listed in the MAG Beta Invite.

Yeah this is kinda getting rediculous dowloading the updates, moving at slow rate of if Im lucky 1MG a minute. I really wanna play this game but man this has been an all day thing literally :/

not true in all cases most of the time you will have to restart from scratch, my 4th attempt got me to 99% before it froze. gonna try again on monday as zipper are working on a fix.

dude that really blows, Im trying it a second time as we speak and its in the high 90% I hope to God that it doesnt freeze at 99% or theres going to be a very angry hole in my wall but hopefully not :)
