I recently purchased a Sanyo 30" HDTV. The model number is HT30746. The problem is, when I set my PS3 to send the signal, it finds that it can do 720p and 1080i, it selects 1080i for my XMB and that's it. So far so good, trouble is that it seems to cut off a fair amount of the picture on both the left and right sides of the screen. I don't know what to do, it only does this in the XMB and the Playstation Store, but it works fine on all the games. I was just wondering if their is something I am supposed to set differently so that my XMB doesn't bleed completely off of the screen. Also, it has made all the letters unbearably small, specially in the web browser, I already set the browser to shoe the characters at +2, but I have no intention off sitting 1 ft away from my TV everytime I browse the web. Please help.

well the letter thing is understandable since my bro's tv does the same but the xmb thing is wierd.  did u set the format to widescreen?  If nothing else works then you should try reseting ur ps3.

In the HD browser, the font is insanely small, they prolly figure people will be as close as they would to their computer screen if they were using the browser. The good news is the update on Thursday will have a zoom feature for the browser so you can just zoom in.

But, if I set it to run on 720p, will it solve that problem with it going of the edges? And how can you set your XMB to run 720p without unchecking the 1080i box? And if I uncheck the 1080i box, won't it run all the games on 720p even if they can run 1080i? Some games, I would prefer the 1080i.

If you uncheck the 1080i box then all games will run in 720p and I might be wrong here but I think blu-ray will run in 480p unless that issue has been resolved yet?
