Many Titles coming out, but Most of them should be waited on becuz. . .

This is my Save money idea(s) thread lol

The point of this thread is showing that 2011 may have expensive games coming out back to back, but if these games below price dropped so fast, wouldn't the new games this year obviously will drop as well ?. . . They most likely will. .

I say this because every 5-8 months depending on the games sales or promotions, a video game price drops. For Example,

• Fallout New Vegas came out Oct,2010 But had to much complaints n low sales so now it's 17.99
• Dark Void got masscred (lol) and is now 7.99
• Two Worlds II is a lot better than the first, but it is now 39.99 new and 34.99 used
• Enslaved is now 19.99 new and 17.99 used
• Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is now 12.99 New (believe that is a sale but it still counts)
• Same For Test Drive Unlimted 2 which is now 29.99 new and 26.99 used

Same for Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja storm 2. The game came out october and it's already 34.99 used and 39.99 new and the same goes for Assassins Creed Brotherhood,The Sims 3, Castlevania Lords Of Shadow, Dragon Age Orgins Ultimate Edition, Unchated 2 GOTY Edition, Borderlands GOTY Edition, and Dead Rising 2. It was just recent when these games were all 60.00 and they have no choice but to drop due to so many titles coming out, and time passing by. Another reason is because of the-

Buy 2 Get 1 Free Gamestop does every new season or Holiday(s) (Or Amazon's Great deals)

Last year I got over 4-6 games free due to that deal and a lot of those games came out that same year and were cheaper. So The Point is is that if these games above ^^ came out within the past 5 to 8 months and they priced dropped already, then you might as well wait for some of the new games that are coming out now or soon and pick them up during late summer, Fall, or winter. Just sayin ;)

Well if Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom is that cheap I may have to go out and buy the game I was going to do so anyway, but I may buy it sooner then planned

I'll only buy the games that I know I may have trouble picking up later mainly Japanese RPG's and limited editions.

But one I got was Killzone 3 Helghast edition £99.99 I waited a bit and I got it for £44.99 :P

On one hand, I agree with you - getting games for cheap is much better. On the other hand, I just bought L.A. Noire and got Resonance of Fate ($20) for free AND a $20 gift certificate. In cases like this, I'd rather enjoy L.A. Noire now instead of waiting for 6 months, getting L.A. Noire for $30 and only saving $10.

someone already got it right with most of them being niche games. I got enslaved for $13, and really I would've paid more than that for it. AC just needs to calm down, we don't need a 4th one already this year. Borderlands GOTY is $40, which I think GOTY editions should be released at a lower price, or at least go down quicker (though I got it for $20 on sale). I think Fallout went down so quick due to all the bugs that turned people off. However, it is pretty common knowledge that games go down quick, which is why I only got one game at full release price, which was ME2 just because I can't resist anything sci-fi.

I'll only buy the games that I know I may have trouble picking up later mainly Japanese RPG's and limited editions.

This, right now i cant afford (or i can, lol) not to order some special editions, because i would lose the pre-order stuff, or the collectors edition of said games (that could go very pricey in the future)

Catherine "Love if Over" edition + Pre-Order (to get the pre-order stuff, and because it published by Atlus, it will probably go up in price, just like the Deluxe edition of Demon's Souls, once it hits the market)

Dark Souls (thats upgraded to collectors edition for free, but with a pre-order, so you have to pay full)

I check it everyday. I try not to buy games new anymore unless there is a really good deal. There is a great deal on la noire at K-mart right now (buy LA Noire and get a $20 gift card and a free $19.99 game). For example, I bought Black Ops with a $20 gift card at launch because I know that the prices don't drop much in the 1st year. A lot of people have a perpetual cycle of $20 gift cards that they use, but this only works out to a Buy 3 get 1 free sale. There are plenty of buy 2 get 1 sales throughout the year, so it is better to wait for those in most cases.

Some of my best deals in the last year:

1. Red Dead Redemption- $26 about 6 weeks after launch

2. Ace Attorney: Miles Edgeworth- $10

3. Professor Layton and the Unwound Future- $17

4. Halo Reach- $0 (part of the beta, but hey it was free)

5. Dragonquest IX- $6.99

You know you've gotten a good deal when you buy the game for less than the trade-in price. I always keep a look out for those kind of deals.
