just read that MvC2 will comeout for PS3 and 360

A NeoGAF member who hobbies as ESRB archive scavenger has stumbled upon an update for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 that lists the game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game, a frenetic 3-on-3 arcade bralwer from 2000 (and probably one of the main reasons you keep a Sega Dreamcast around, assuming you didn't pick up the PS2 or Xbox One version), seems like a perfect fit for Xbox Live Arcade or PS Network. We've reached out to Capcom for more information.

Nice for those who want it, but don't want to fork over the large amount for a hard copy lol.

The DC version is still the best looking one between it and the PS2 copy; don't know about the Xbox 1 version though. :o I'm not sure if it will be too big for XBLA/PSN, but it would be pretty ridiculous to fit these games on much more than a 700MB CD.

(Hold on, let me pick my jaw up off the floor) This is huge (if true)! I fell in love with this game the first time I played the arcade version, and ever since have been looking for a copy of it, but then eventually stopped once I realized the price for it. This, to me, is probably the best game ever made, and I will surely go out and buy a PSN card JUST to get this game.

How would it be too big for PSN?

Exactly, there are already 3 full games on the psn, Warhawk, NFL Headcoach(not sure if it's still on) and burnout. And I know burnout was about 3.3 gigs, I seriously doubt Marvel vs Capcom 2 will be bigger than that.

Also, I hope this is true, I loved the first and have been dying to play the second. Could this be a sign that there could be a Marvel vs Capcom 3?

Freaking awesome. I hope its a better version and not just a cut/paste ps2 port. Closer to the arcade, I mean, cause there is a difference.

Does that mean the cost of the actual PS2 game will decrease? :(

Oh my god I hope this is true. My DC resets at random due to something wrong with the controller inputs. I would love to have it on PS3. Since I also, cannot find the PS2 version. Especially for the $80 price tag.

Actually, the game is close to 400 Megs in size if I remember correctly. The Dreamcast disk could fit 1 gig of data. MVC2 can fit on a standard 700Meg CD. PSN has demos on over a gig. Either way you look at it, it's fine. Just because the disk size is (for example) 9 gigs, it doesn't mean the game itself is.

This could be a hype tactic for a Marvel vs Capcom 3. Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix was mentioned for the purpose of Street Fighter 4 (though it was supposed to be released over a year ago)

But since this isn't a remake, we'll get it faster.
