The game is fun. Very fun. Fighting nuts may nitpick all day, but I think the series evolved perfectly. Absolutely brilliant fighter IMO. When I return it to Blockbuster I will purchase. I am hoping that I can find a Limited Edition for the MSRP.
Thank you for your opinion, I shall consider your points while I play it and see if it bothers me as much.
*Back from playing it again and... I respectfully disagree.
This game Rocks and I have the iLL Combo Chris, Wolverine and Wesker
PS3 ID SteveRozco who want it?
LOL @ not being able to do a hadouken.FightingfanI'm a total fighting game tard and that was pretty much the first move I did in MvC3... =/ Troll post or just one of the worst players of all time
LOL @ not being able to do a hadouken.FightingfanLOL, that's a good one, i guess i should of just typed quarter circle, punch in the direction you're facing. Still a good one. Well again just back from playing online, amazed by how people choose pretty much the same people, mainly dante and trish spam. Actually had someone pick super skrull, was a bit of a joke. Deadpool was another toon picked a lot. I myself just picked random, might as well make the game somewhat interesting. I even pulled out MVC2 for dreamcast, still a classic and great game to play more than this disappointment. Might as use it for a good trade in at gamestop. At least there are those who are getting some amusement out of a disappointing game.

I'm not saying your, uh, 'voluminous' bit of exposition doesn't have any merit for you, personally. I'm sure it does. I've just noticed lately, that you can almost predict the moment someone will put up this exact statement. I've seen it for CoDBLops, ME2, GT5, no MvsC3...
I wonder if, perhaps, we're expecting SUCH wonderful things, that we can never be satisfied? I've heard from my fight-game pro fan friends that the game is very solid and a great entry to the series.
seriously, is it better than Super Street Fighter 4? Even though I have it I don't like it much 'cause it's hard and frustrating when i kept losing in online..
You can say i suck much, but will MVC3 be much better?
meh, just like every single fighting game theres always balancing issues and people spamming online. I love the game, but online is sort of a joke. I tried a few player matches (avoid ranked to have fun, stay away from spammers)...but it was full of dante spammers. I didn't play much, havent played MvC2 in at least 6-7 years so i have some catching up to you. I think the game is great, but really wish they added tourny mode for offline.

Why do think some people bought this game in the first place? They want to play as... the most popular characters. If that amazes you then you should get out more. If you want to see something amazing, go check out the Grand Canyon or Niagra Falls. You're bashing on this game, but you haven't named or proven a single legitimate flaw; just a bunch of nitpicking.
if it wasn't for the poor roster i am sure the game would easily be one of the best fighters this genelbert_b_23There're key players missing for a reason: DLC $$$

You hate the game, yet you beat it several times in one day, and are going back for more? I find that a bit odd. But whatever, it also just sounds to me that you are used to the other game and this is hard to ajust to after playing the other one so much.

I've been there. You really want to like a game for whatever reason (usually, you really liked the last game from the series/devs) so no matter how horrible it is, you keep looking for something that redeems it.
Same thing happened to me with GTA4, Burnout Paradise, and Fallout New Vegas.
For me MvC3 was never a title to buy at launch. I liked the previous ones but I usually picked them up for really cheap used, and me and my friends never really "got into them" we would just burn a splif and watch all the trippiness that unfolded when we mashed buttons.
It's not a game to be taken seriously and I think that's pretty evident.
LOL @ not being able to do a hadouken.FightingfanI had a hard time doing that move in street fighter iv. I stop playing it after the first 10 minutes.
MvsC3 is fun but it gets old fast. The other 2 were much better and half of the complaints from TC are facts so this is not just an empty opinion or trolling.
I have a couple of complaints about this game too:
1. the game's too slow
2. chaining combos and finish it with a super is way too easy. So easy that all you see while playing online is this pattern "launch button", "2-4 hit air combo" and then "hyper combo" rinse and repeat
3. I hate the fact that you can't see other battles while waiting for your turn
4. I hate that there are so many people online that all they do is run and attack with long-range attacks
5. but the thing I hate the most is that during battle there are way too many stuff flashing on screen that doesn't let you appreciate the animation of the incredible combo that you just did. With just a single weak punch there's already some yellow flash covering half the screen of your TV and you're like, the hell just happened? Way too over the top and after half an hour of playing my head starts to hurt a little.
They can't be facts, it what he thinks, not what others think. The only one that is fact is the tiny roster, other then that its just what he thinksMvsC3 is fun but it gets old fast. Actually even "tiny roster" isn't a fact. Everyone has a different idea on what's big or small. I actually don't think 36 is tiny at all. Smaller then MvC2's 56, but it's still not tiny. Bolded is why I barely even check the PS3 forums. Pretty much half the first page is always someone ragging on a game or calling it overrated. If I based my opinion of users on these sites solely on the topics of the PS3 forums I would assume it was all a bunch of spoiled teenagers with no lives and a horrendous need for e-validation. Sadly it's mostly adults, yet the rest seems to be accurate....

You have to admit that for the most part the content, quality, and value of games have gone down drastically this gen.
Unfortunately, much of it has to do with the big push towards online connection. Because so many consoles are connected to the net, publishers feel they can rush a broken product to the shelves and patch it later. I also et the feeling that they hold back a lot of content so they can sell it as dlc later on. When I look at the quality and content of the games from last generation, I see a pretty big gap from what we get now.
I kind of feel the same way I felt after the MTA decided to raise fairs AND cut service.
To an extent I agree, which is why I still collect games for and play my PS2 way more than my PS3. However, when literally every new or popular game gets ragged on who am I supposed to take seriously? If every game is a let-down why are people still playing games at all? The value of criticism decreases when all you see is negativity. As soon as a game either gets really good reviews or remains popular after a set timeframe, people seem to think they're creating this wholly original opinion by running to their computer to tell us how overrated it is or how much it sucks. To be honest, if I want actual information on a game from a fan, not a reviewer, I will go to that game's forum as those people are typically currently playing it and will give constructive criticism as in "I like the game BUT..." rather than "OMG WUT IS WRONG WITH IGN/GAMESPOT/ETC DIS IZ TEH WURST GAME EVERS!!1!!11!!

I understand what you mean and while that's always happened, it does seem to happen a lot more this gen than last gen. The question is are gamers getting spoiled or are the publishers getting lazy/stingy.
Personally, I think the truth is closer to the latter reason. I know I complain more about games now than I did last gen. Maybe I'm just becoming a grumpy old man but I'm more likely to take seriously the word of forum posters (if there are a lot of them complaining about the same thing: see again New Vegas and glitches) than a bunch of game critics. You know the forum posters aren't getting paid to share their opinions. So if a lot of people complain that a game is too short and that's the only real complaint, I'll give it a rent. Of course it is hard to take them seriously when they have no good reason to hate it.
I remember a lot of people not liking San Andreas because they don't like black people and rap music. That kind of criticism I wont take seriously because I like black people and rap music.
