So on the xbox I played ME2 without ME1 data to see what would happen, and the Shepard sucked, Wrex dead, Anderson was a douche, and so on. What I want to know(and sorry if this has been asked, I haven't found it) is are we able to choose what happened in ME1 for ME2 on the PS3 or did they change the default or do you just have to live with it and forever be upset about it?

They package the PS3 version with an interactive comic that allows you to make 6 decisions that came up in ME1. As a PS3 owner, it obviously doesn't do justice to ME1, but it did a get job getting the story rolling for someone like me who was foreign to it.

Yeah, it's a nice addition that at least lets you experience a fraction of the early game (though the introspective Shepard who tells his tale is BEYOND creepy). Would have been nice if the 360 version did the same, as their locked canon experience without a save was ridiculous. The only downside is that while you can make the six 'big' decisions, losing the first game means no sidequest interaction, and I found those moments to be more meaningful in Mass Effect 2 than any of the big decisions. Most of those huge decisions result in a couple of lines of dialogue that vary, and that's it - and that's ridiculous.

I agree 100%. Running into people I interacted with in the first game, and seeing what has happened since then made the game more enjoyable to me than whether or not I saved the counsel, which honestly doesn't effect the game that much.
Things like having a drink with the undercover Asari cop you helped in the first ME, then helping her take down the sales person on Illium who has the stolen plans. That had more effect on the game to me than letting the counsel die or live. Either way the new counsel can't be bothered with you, and Counselor Udina is a douche to you either way.
Hey I'm new to the forum and wanted your opinion: basically when I started ME2 on PS3 I didn't realise there was this interactive story and all these premade decisions ('you sacrificed the council', 'kaidan is dead') were really getting to me but I was so absorbed in the game I didnt think there could've been a way to make decisions from the first game which I never played. In short, I'm 10 hours in and was wondering if there was any way of altering things now? I'm pretty sure that's a no-go so was wondering whether you think it's worth starting a new game to make these decisions via the dark horse comic? Truth be told although ten hours sounds a long time, I did spend a fair bit of time getting lost, looking around every corner for credits, exhausting every speech option etc. Honest opinion? I don't mind kaidan died as choosing either would be tough though I would've liked to have picked Anderson over udina, saved the council, saved wrex and got it on with liara. Why bio have you left us with the bad decisions! (I was not prompted in any way if I wanted to download the comic) PLease, please, please, what do you suggest I should I do?
