There has been much speculation lately about whether Mass Effect, the hugely-popular and critically acclaimed RPG, currently exclusive to the Xbox 360, will be making it to the PS3. A recent listing on GAME's website further fueled the fire. Bioware, the guys behind Mass Effect, have been pretty quiet about this issue…until now.

When questioned by a forum member on their forums, a representative for the company, Patrick Weekes, did not deny the rumor; but at the same time, did not confirm it.

"we don't comment on rumors. :-) "

The mere fact that Weekes did not outright deny the claims is surprising. If Bioware really had no intention on bringing the award-winning series over to the PS3, they should have outright denied the claims; whether through an official statement or on their forums. They shouldn't be letting the rumors grow, only to leave the fans disappointed.

This issue certainly won't be going away any time soon. So stick with PlayStation Life**** as we'll bring you all the latest news on this topic.

There are other things that have higher priority than Mass Effect 2. IMO.

Regardless, I'm more likely to get it for the PC. Though it would be nice for those who have never played a Mass Effect game.

I doubt that they would outright say its not going to happen becase if sales aren't what they expect, the PS3 would be a good place to go to bolster revenue, however if sales are strong then they likely wont. Therefore it would be unwise to confirm one or the other and potentially make a liar out of yourself.

stuff like that is planned out ahead of time. it's not like you can just lift the code from the PC and plaster it on the PS3. They make projections, and with a company like EA, and with Sony - a platform holder - always looking to add more content over. the pressures are there to get Bioware to put the effort to put Mass Effect franchise on the PS3 platform. Don't get me wrong, Nintendo and Microsoft do the same for their parts. Nintendo's Reggie Fills-Amie calling out Capcom to bring Resident Evil 5 to Wii, and Microsoft heralding the coming of the Metal Gear franchise to the 360. They know Mass Effect is a known quality franchise, so a demand is definently there. Even if there are gamers who are not at all interested, they know there are more people who are.

I wish they'd just clear all of this up one way or another to be honest. Either way I will pick it up for the 360, as I already have a couple of lvl 50ish Sheppards (one good one evil) and I'd like to import those saves when ME2 is released. If this turns out to be true, then awesome news for those that own a PS3, ME 2 should be well worth the wait.
