mass effect on ps3 question

should i get masss effect 2 without playing 1. dont own xbobx or good pc so i cant get #1. does it effect story too much or doesnt it matter?

The first Mass Effect is available as a downloaded game on PSN as of December 4th. Definitely play it first. I would go as far as to say it's required to enjoy the 2nd one ( it would be for me ).

I would strongly suggest that you play the original before you play the second. If you don't, you won't get as much out of story or characters. Also there are more references to the first game and bonus side quests if you import a ME1 save.

not neccesaryily, I played ME2 back in 2011 without playing the first one and enjoyed it. that being said, I enjoyed it so much more after having imported data from ME1.

You can buy 1, 2, & 3 for ps3. Just buy the collections.

You could buy 2 and see a recap of 1 but Mass Effect 1 is by far the best of the 3... expecially plot wise... If you are pressed for time dont worry about it but if you are worried you wont like one trust me... you will

Mass Effect is 15$ on PSN. Definitely play it before the other two games. You don't really have to but the story and characters will be much more enjoyable when you play ME 2, 3.

i like the feeling of being thrown into a world and needing to figure out how things work. that's something you can definitely do with mass effect 2 thanks to the codex and conversation wheel. additionally, the decisions you make in ME1 don't have much of an impact until ME3. so i think it's perfectly viable to skip ME1 and get into ME2 (it's what i did).

however, ME1 is a good game and cheap. you might as well try it first if you are interested in the series.
