I believe that Microsoft's deal will not allow the original to come to the PS3. Pachter (an analyst) suggested that it might come to the PS3, but no confimation has occurred. I would think that until it is released on PC (next week) that no announcement would be made.

Meh, you're not missing much. It's basically a "conversation simulator" with horrible running and gunning. I think it only did well sales wise because it's exclusive, thus tricking 360 owners into some sort of false sense of satisfaction. I own a 360, as well as a PS3 and a Wii and don't ever have to go without concerning "must have" titles - having said that I rented ME and was sorry I wasted that much money. That's just my opinion, some people are satisfied with crappy gameplay as long as the game is visually stimulating, and in HD it definately is a shade or two above adequate. Take it from me, Xbots would definately disagree on this one but the only title that PS3 only owners should be truly jealous of is Gears (and maybe Viva Pinata).
Microsoft has no say over Mass Effect. The original decision by Bioware to bring ME to 360 was because the 360 was out to market a year before PS3 and the developers kit didn't require a engineering degree to get the most out of it. At the time the PS3 was a gamble. In some ways it still its.
But the good news....now that EA owns Bioware they can pressure Bio into releasing for PS3. Microsoft has no say in the matter...of course they can offer more lucrative deals to EA to bribe them not to, but MS has no say so. So, anythings possible!

Ea is gonna do everything to make more money so i think it will come for PS3 (and hope so)
Mass Effect 1? No.
Mass Effect 2 & 3? Yes, 6 months after the 360 versions.
Floppy_Jim
that would be sweeet:P
Yeah ME1 will not. Even though it's BioWare's IP we dont' know the agreement they made with MS back before EA bought them out. Some agreements are timed exclusives some are permanent. And it's over a year since the first one was released. Last time a PS3 port came along a year later (Bioshock) it only sold 30,000 it's opening week and was #44 on the charts. Hardly worth the time and resources needed to port, market, ship the game.
ME2+ on the other hand is a different story. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. I woldn't doubt that they will eventually come to the PS3.
You ain't missing much.I played Mass Effect. The story was great but the long loading times, and''OK''Gameplay made it a pain.It seemed more like a Rundown shooter with RPGs elements than an actual RPG.K1LLR3175
My only problem with ME was that it had a king's ransom in graphical glitches and all the spaceships and extra planets look alike. It was like they wanted to go epic with it, but last interest halfway through.
ME2 might go, but the original was published by MS, so that won't happen.pyromaniac223

ME is a good game. I only played the PC version but got bored of it due to various circumstances, but a port on the PS3... I don't know whether it's possible but a remastered version or a remake (or at least something like a DLC for ME2 to cover the story) would be possble. If the first game doesn't come out a DLC might for the second one.
Gears yeah. Its so good, but then again we can live without that since we have uncharted & killzone, gears is a mix of the 2 isn't it.[QUOTE="stele29"]Meh, you're not missing much. I reckon if EA do want to do it, any MS tries to stop them all they can do is do a timed exclusivity like they did with GTA Episodes. Why do people keep asking for things they know will not happen? I say each system is entitled to exclusive games. Why bother choosing one system over another when they all play the same things? It is already bad enough as it is. Other than PC games, there is almost know reason to get the other system anynmore.
Just because you disliked it doesn't mean its bad. Conversation Simulator? Wow man honestly? It just sounds like you expected it to be more of a 3rd Person Shooter. Mass Effect, like Fallout 3, more of an RPG before it is a shooter. As for PS3 owners being jealous of Gears? That is ridiculous. Gears is fun, but not awe inspiring. They failed at making it more emotional (Dom getting pissed because his wife is dead doesn't make it emotionally gripping), the MP sucked and was glitchy too long to keep a lot of people into it (I knew 10 people who had it day one, and sold it within a few weeks because of the MP). By all you've said, I think you're just an action/shooter gamer. Don't disrespect games that don't fulfill your need for frat boy dialogue and huge explosions.Meh, you're not missing much.
