i played the first two games and story on three is not great or as engaging. I wish they could ahve inccluded flash back scenes of max remembering his wife and daughter and boy I wish there was some cutscene of him remembering mona sax. they should have followed some tips from mgs4 where solid snake revisits his past in one of the levels

I haven't played the full game yet, but I have seen some of it on Youtube. The monologues aren't anywhere near as good as they were in the first games. The gameplay looks good, but the story/atmosphere/dialogue seems to fall short when compared to 1 & 2.

sure it did, any kinda sense will tell ya had this game not stuffed mp into the mix the length would have been even longer, there would have been more cutscenes and better one's, soooooo many games are examples of this yet some people still refuse to beleave it, oh well like u said.. whatever helps ya sleep at night. lol look i'm in no way trying to say the game wasn't great, its close to a freakin masterpiece! all i'm sayin is had it not been for mp getting in the way they may could have done just a little bit more.

it doesnt surprise me that you find that the general atmosphere, feel. and writing of the game doesnt live up to the first 2 games because this is rockstar developing it as opposed to the original games' developer (Remedy). the game just didnt interest me that much once i found out that it would not be Remedy making the game. never been a huge fan of rockstar's games anyway, so knowing they developed it really drains any interest i could have had in this game.

Sam Lake is a better writer than Dan Houser. I love Houser, but (imo) Sam Lake is one of the best video game writers of all time.
