Friend(1) and I are trying to play Black Ops together but if we trying to join each other party it comes up with an error like "Game is not longer available" or something like that. I got my friend to go to Internet Connection Settings and he has a Type 2 NAT. So do I. So we should be able to connect right?

Some people say that Black Ops isn't very good on the PS3 so we try and voice chat on the PS3 but it still comes up with a NAT error. I have iiNet and friend(1) has Telstra. Would that be the cause. Friend(2) has iiNet like me and we can connect fine. But Friend(1) and friend(2) can connect.

What is going on?

It happens to me sometimes as well but all I have to do is try a few times and eventualy it works. But I remember some other games where I just could not connect to certain PSN friends at all. It happened in FIFA 10, Fat Princess, Bad Company 2 and some other games. We just couldnt get together if one of us was the party leader.

So my firmware is up to date...

Would the ISP be the problem? The friend with connection problems has a different one to mine. The friend that I can connect to fine has the same ISP as me.
