The PS3 Media Server is simply a device that's there to store and share media from your PC. You need Windows Media Player 11. Then go to Library & enable Media Sharing.
they're for connecting ur computer to ur ps3. i'm currently trying to set this up myself, but since i'm not very tech-savvy, its all trial and error right now :)indian_playa
Install Tversity, install ffdshow codecs. Run Tversity, select folders you wish to stream to the PS3.
The console should detect the media server immediatly. Divx movies can be converted on the fly to the PS3, with subtitles, no converter required.
If you're having corrupted file problems, stop the server; click the windows start button ---> run ---> mediaserver - debug. Altough you'll have to this every time you want to start the server, it is worth it.
