Download the new version of Windows Media Player. Go to the Library and then to Media Sharing. Turn on your Sharing and then search for servers on the PS3 and it should bring it up. You will then have to give the PS3 the OK to access your information through the Windows Media settings. You should be all set to go.
My brother ran into an issue today where some of the movie trailers he downloaded from Stage-6 kept showing up as Uncompaptible Media, but we arent sure why because the Divx files should work fine now.
I am pretty sure that the media player needs to recognize them as being in the WMP library before the PS3 will be able to access them. Not 100% sure on that, but I get the feeling that is the way it works.
When I go to options > library > configure sharing > share my media it hangs on share my media when I checkmark it then click okay. It just freezes up for a minute or so then returns with media sharing unchecked! I cannot seem to get media sharing to stay checked.
