megaman 9 just got me pissed

Well when I was playing in through Wilys castle after 1hr finally passing the first 2 stages I finally get to stage 3 of the castle but when I was about to die I noticed that I was low on items so after I died I went back to restock for the 3rd part of the castle but when I clicked on Wilys stage it sent me back to level 1 and that just pissed me off anyone else have the same issue.

Yup, its mean just like an orginal NES game. Pshh and people think demon's souls is hard. Though i bought megaman 9 on wii because it was exclusive for like 2 months and megaman roots are on the big N :PFightingfan

same crap happened to me. I stopped to go to work thinking when I get home with modern day saves I would just pick up where I left off. Oh no. Not at all. That is why I haven't touched that game since.hiryu3

Only the graphics are. Mega Man 9 has adopted this "punish the player" game design that has popped up since last couple of Mega Man X releases. I've played all of the originals and beaten most of them since their releases. The demo of Mega Man 9 frustrated the hell out of me. Especially making "flaws on purpose".

Hopefully Mega Man 10 will turn out better.

yep classic mega man. However unlike classic megaman there is a store. To make your jaunt through Wiley's castle some what easier. Play though a boss stage again that has a regenerating assailant e.g. bird in the beginning of concrete mans stage. Keep killing them and stock up on bolts (currency). There is a better place to stock up but I cant remember where it was as it has been about a year and a half since I beat the game. I remember it was a tube you could stand on with the spinng sheild weapon. Guys will keep coming out of the tube and get killed by the shield. Any ways take the bolts to the store sock up on extra lives and other valuable items to make the trip through the castle a bit more manageable. The store in Megaman 9 made it easier then many of the old school megaman games. If you want to talk about a hard game try the original megaman.

I like the difficulty of the original games though. It actually made you work to reach the end.

no more worrys just beat megaman 9 now and boy was it tough now for practice im doing megamans 1-8 to prepare for megaman 10 as well as the portable ones.

Agreed. It's a shame that gamers who started playing games recently can't appreciate old school challenge. Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, anyone?

Well that was only the original, ever since Mega Man 2 they had the code system so that you wouldn't have to start over. Only early NES games really burdened you with that one sitting thing. But it was made much easier like another poster said because of the ability to by things like E tanks from the store and the ability to save E tanks after you die.
