Does it just let u save ur ps2/ps1 saves onto the hd or does it also let u just load a saved file so u can continue a ps2 with that file. Basically, am i forced to transfer to the hd jsut to load a ps2 save file to continue play?

Not sure tbh. IIRC the manual only mentions PS2 :( besides...it's not available yet is it?

The only thing the adapter does is transfer everything on the memory card to a new internal memory card on the HD.  You can't play directly from the memory card itself, nor can you transfer any saves on your HD back to a memory card (so once it's on the PS3, it stays on the PS3).

Your saying it transfer them directly, not copy them onto the internal memory card o nthe hd? I'll keep my ps2 hooked up i nthat case...

t does transfer them onto an internal memory card.   The problem is, not all of the games will find your saved game.  My perosnal problem has been GOW.  The Game actually looks pretty good for a PS2 game on PS3 (with porgressive scan turned on) but it doesn't recognize my save game that I transfered over to the internal hard drive.  Moral, if you are part way through a PS2 game, keep your old system around until you are finished are you're sure the game can find the internal memory card.

I still have my PS2 hooked up regardless.  I've had a few rather occasional quirks with PS1 games on my PS2 that I had to drag out my PS1 to get past a certain point in some games.  With the PS3, I don't have that option, once it's on the PS3 it stays there.  So, I'm taking the cautious path and just keeping my PS2 in use.

are you sure you had the memory card that the GOW save was on assigned to slot 1?Â
