Is it used only to transfer ps2 save data to the ps3 harddrive or can you copy saved game data from the ps3 hd to the memory card as well?

It can go both ways. Think of it as a jump drive.

That's what I thought, but I'm having trouble getting my GoW saved data from my ps3 to my memory card.

You are wrong.  With the memory card adapter you can only transfer to the ps3 and not from the ps3 back to a ps2/1 memory card.  Unless this was fixed in an update that I am not aware of?

Well hell, I just wasted $15 then. I wanted to copy my saved data from my ps3 to my ps2 and move my ps2 to a different room. How stupid is that. What's keeps it from copying data back to the memory card?

If you still hav the box and receipt, then you can just take it back to the store after transferring your stuff.  I still go tmine.  when i bought it at launch I thought it went both ways too.  I really don't know why Sony doesn't allow this?

its like transferring something old to something new. It's harder to move something from the new copy back to the old copy. If you have macromedia flash you would understand.. they had macromedia flash mx at first, then flash 2004, then flash mx 8. Flash 8 save data cant be opened with 2004 OR flash mx. Sucks eh but i guess thats how tech advances.

It's been 2 years since the last post and I wondered if anyone knows of a new product which allows you to transfer saves from your PS1/2 Memory card to a PS3 and then back again? I'm guessing there isn't one seeing as the 60gb isn't made anymore. But if anyone knows then let me know!

Thanks
