i believe when you format a memory stick there are some hidden files that are stored,
im saying this because i noticed my memory stick never once had full capacity of memory and when you update the space gets even smaller
Well, yea... I'm pretty sure they store system data on there.
Honestly, I would recommend getting a bigger card. You can get a gig for 15, 20 bucks and 2 for 25, 30.
When you have the room, you find uses for it. I have a bunch of wallpaper on mine... along with Wild Arms I got from the PSN.. and occasionally I'll download a demo to try.
Due to how mem sticks are formatted (spacewise) you never actually get the memory indicated on the mem stick. It's always a trifle bit less, and that escalates by proportion. Also, your game saves may say 500kb but that does not include the space that the icon image takes up for that game save. But like it was stated on a previous post, even though you may not need the room, it's a good bet to invest in a bigger card. 1gig runs about $20 now (or less on some forums). It's always good to have the room and not need it than to not have it and need it.
