Take this review with a grain of salt in my opinion... Aaron Thomas I find generally gives a lower score then the public consensus unless it's a sports game... He's the same guy who did the R&C Future review.RoganSarine
Yeah i guess, Ratchet was a crazy game, but im still going to rent Mercs,i like blowing stuff up :D
Haze is a good game nowavataraang1

Always do..
I know... it wasn't meant for you, but your comment served my purpose.
Reiviews should be done by more than 1 person by professional game sites like igna nd gamespot.
They should have a meeting with like 5 to 7 people and review a game with agreed upon all. Its better.
goodgunda
I couldn't agree with you more. The review was **** All other critics gave it an average of 8/10 and users gave it 8.6/10. It's bs that gamespot would give this crap

The best thing I've read on this site in a while. Great advice for all to heed.;)
Anyway, yeah, it's his opinion that Mercs. 2 is a 5, and while I disagree more then words can say, he's still entitled to it. I do think he was way too hard on the game, though.
While Mercs. 2 is certainly not the most polished game I've ever played, it's still great fun. So much fun that a few bugs and glitches, which most games these days have anyway, don't ruin the experience for me.
Mercs. 2 is hella fun, and at the end of the day, that's what matters the most.

Nyc, i am assuming you have the game from what everyone says that you buy anything that comes out.
Is the game a 5.0? Do you regret buying it?

I like how people take reviews as the word of god.pyromaniac223
Theyre not, well i know i do , you know reviewers dont actually fully play the game. only they do is take one or two minutes playing the game then write it down in a review.
Or find out what other sites say then copy it as their own terms like i stated if im going to trust reviews i rather go to a 7 year old kid if not that then gametrailers ;)
This reviewers by the way is almost as lame as the one from ign who did the dark sector one. smh. yeah its a copy from gears but yet its been an announced title for 5 years .
You think 5.0 is bad imagine if this was a playstation 3 exclusive .
itll be more like a 2.5  :P.

OK, I've just read the review and (stupid glitchspot giving me HTML errors so I can't quote):
---------
Enemy AI is horrific. If you're injured you can just run behind a building to regenerate--soldiers won't make much of an effort to find you. They won't even go to great lengths to shoot you if you're right next to them, often standing there oblivious to your shooting them. When you have to destroy a specific piece of equipment or vehicle, sometimes the easiest thing to do is stand next to or get inside of it and let the bad guys blow up the very thing they're supposed to be protecting.
The problems just keep on coming. Helicopters will vanish with you in them; turrets will float in midair; people you're supposed to rescue will drown themselves or run face-first into the helicopter rather than get in; and allies will shoot at you for no reason. Combat falls flat because shooting guys takes longer and is more difficult than simply running up to them and killing them with one punch; helicopters will often drop off support troops on rooftops, where they'll either get stuck or plunge to their deaths. Enemy soldiers respawn in gun towers even after you've taken over an outpost; they can shoot through walls and often appear out of thin air, too. Civilians will run right in front of you when you drive, costing you 5 grand each time you hit them; your helicopter pilot will sometimes fail to show up, or will drop your cargo where you can't get to it. You might even be unlucky enough to have the game crash during a load screen; or to be told that you're dead when you clearly have health left, forcing you to restart. You might even lose progress due to a save game failing. The list of bugs and problems really is staggering.
------
If that list of bugs really is true then this game deserves a 5.0. The game should no way have been released like that and giving it a higher score would basically say it's perfectly fine for developers to release unfinished games. Sure, you might not have come across all of those bugs, but the fact they exist in the first place is quite shocking.
Basically everyone I've talked to who has played this has said that the glitches are rare and definitely not game-ruining.I'll copy my post from SW:

Seriously what game now days doesnt have glitches or bugs- from my experience- gta iv, madden 09, rainbow six vegas 2, call of duty 4.
It be kind of rare to not find a glitch. but none of these games ive played are major glitches only minor.
Last i checked, reviews shouldnt make a game what it is to the everyday gamer. Personal opinion>Reviews anyday.
its a great game. i mean c'mon. i say 7.8 though

A Reviewer would give a game that low of a score just because a few minor glitches and bugs
I can name some games ive experienced with some glitches but nothing major - Call of duty 4 , rainbow six vegas 2, gta iv, madden 09.
And its just some bugs that can be fixed at a later patch. imo.

Those bugs are in no way minor. And they shouldn't need to be fixed in a patch because they shouldn't be there in the first place. The game is unfinished and nobody should support the practice of release now, fix later.

If I play the game and don't come across all of those glitches, IT DOESN'T MEAN THEY DON'T EXIST. Would you rather he lied and didn't list what he found? It might not be the same for everyone but he can only say what he saw himself, not what others have experienced. The video review will show you that the AI is non-existant and the game is buggy. I suppose they still don't exist, right? It's a reviewer's job to tell you HIS OWN EXPERIENCES. If he came across those things then they're there. Unless you're saying he made them up?
