Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are on the disc.
Start up Metal Gear Solid 3 and you can access them from there.
The MGS HD collection is hands down the best collection this gen, the games look great in HD and its got hundreds of hours of content for just $40.
i know i'm gonna be blasted for it but does the mgs collection have an installment of the orginal metal gear solid 1 from the ps1, that was the game to beat all games and when i read the collection it had peacewalker mgs 2 and mgs3. so i'm a little bit miffed to why i don't see a ramped up version of the title what truly set metal gear solid off.

It does not, and I agree, I have no clue why it's not on there. I've never played a MGS game and I was going to start with the collection, but some users here were telling me to get MGS off the PSN before I start the collection.

MGS1 is not on the collection, but by the story, you need to play MGS3 first. Honestly speaking, MGS3 and PeaceWalker are prolly the two best Metal Gear games. MGS4 is awesome because it wraps up the story, but gamewise, MGS3 is the buisness, an PeaceWalker is freaking crazy online.
The MGS HD Collection has all the content that was originally on the games. The only thing that has been removed is the skateboarding game from MGS 2 Substance. The American version and European version are simlar but I've herd the European version has a glitch in one of the MGS games that isn't in the American version.
MGS3 has quite a bit of content missing from Subsistence: Snake Vs. Monkey, Secret Theatre, and Metal Gear Online. The MGS HD Collection has all the content that was originally on the games. I've got another question, is there the Virtual Reality missions from MGS2 Substance included ??? I really enjoyed those and I'd really like to play them again

If you've got a Wii or GameCube, you could get Twin Snakes instead. I much prefer Twin Snakes. The improved graphics make the game even better. It would've made the HD collection complete if Twin Snakes was on the disc but apparently this couldn't be done because of an issue with Silicone Knights. Please Log In to post.
