I don't know yet...I'm not expecting much from the story. As for gameplay I'm not sure on that either especially after learning Team Little Angels isn't developing the title (it probably still be good though).

This. I was interested in MGS:R when it was first announced, but wasn't sure what to expect. When I saw the PlatinumGames announcement, I was hyped because you know it will be fantastic in the gameplay department. But when I heard the Bayonetta team wasn't working on it, I'm back to being skeptical, but still interested.
If Kojima scrapped it I assume he did so for a reason.
Despite craving more Metal Gear, this game looks beyond terrible to me thus far. Only time will tell but for now I'll go with "Meh"
If you are trying to compare what is happening to Metal Gear Solid to Devil May Cry you couldn't be further than the truth.
Genuine faults with DmC:
But in DmC's favour the devs finally admitted it's not canon and has absolutely nothing to do with the original series.
Now on to Metal Gear Rising, right off the bat the devs made sure to differentiate it from Solid series by giving it the RISING tag, similar to AC!D series on PSP. Also Kojima gave us 'making off' on why they chose Plat and it made sense unlike Capcom with DmC which screams of laziness and greed.
Skeptical. The part where Raiden guarded Ray's sword like arm and threw down a Ray like nothing are big turn off (must be PG sty1e. In MGS4, I remember he almost died for good, trying to stop a ship or submarine.

Yeah I understand that but the Ship(Outer Haven) housed many Rays and Raiden with only one arm managed to hold it back for a brief time. Imagine if he was in full strength. MGS4 too exaggerated Raiden's strength so for me what I saw in MGR was exactly what I expected from a game with Ninja Raiden.
I'd much rather have a new IP from Platinum Games with this gameplay than this game. So, in short, not interested.

Good point and it's only a trailer. I doubt PG will make it so easy fighting a Ray or cut it to pieces. Kinda sad to see Ray being thrown around like nothing but a giant useless metal.
It looks sketchy but after playing Vanquish, I'll keep an eye on it depsite the corny voice acting and cliche story. The gameplay may actually be good.

I'm gonna feel bad for Ray when I cut it to pieces with my lightening blade :P
As far as a Metal Gear game goes, this MGR: R is far from being a Metal Gear game, but does that make less it less of game, no. The fact is, it's relative to the Metal Gear universe, in terms of how Raiden came to be what he was in MGS4! trailer, it looks like it's going to be a great game experience!yokokoromait takes place after MGS4
Im not sure I like the concept of it now, but I will most likely buy it anyways becuase I love metal gear and platinum games to death
Jehuty08
that.
it takes place after MGS4 Yeah, now, but it was originally announced as a prequel to MGS4![QUOTE="yokokoroma"]As far as a Metal Gear game goes, this MGR: R is far from being a Metal Gear game, but does that make less it less of game, no. In my opinion it looks better than the other Metal Gear games. Looking forward to it.
