lol come one... it's just 2 or 3 more months, there's no reason to be dramatic here.
It's still comming in the first half of 2008.
I also would much rather the game be finished properly instead of being rushed out and be problematic, however, I am becoming beyond disgusted with developers projecting or outright announcing a release date or window for a game, and then repeatedly pushing it back and back and back.
It's always been a fault of the gaming industry to do this, but it's never been as bad and widespread as it has become so far in this generation, and it seems to be getting worse. Game after game get's within a matter of a couple months or less of being released, only to have it pushed back farther, and then often times it's happening a second or third time.
My interest for MGS 4 peaked around E3 and then leading into TGS, and I was all set for it to be out in March, I figured it would be perfect that by then all my preholliday games would have a playthrough or so, and then I would be ready to give it a go, but now, it's so dissappointing to know after all the video and hype, we are looking at as much as 7 or 8 months yet before getting to play the game.
I just wonder how much of this was strategic, with GTA IV coming out in march, did the Metal Gear guys just realize that it would be best for them to maximise the release window and take a few more months finishing off the game?
Q2 isn't bad.
But I don't get what is everyones issue.
Naughty Dog had to start from scratch with the PS3. They had to endor a learning curve with C++, yet they're still managing to get their game out on time.
I applaud Naughty Dog, and I believe every other developer just lacks as much talent.

Kojima Productions lacking in talent? You heard it from Omega first.
Just kidding, but I do agree that developers should be getting games out on time like ND
I think that's for good. I'm sure that Hideo Kojima and Konami are working very hard on this game to make it as better as possible. So, I think that the delays will make the game better.
In other hand I'm not in hurry with MGS4. That is one of the few games that I'll buy at any cost. And... I will play MGS1, 2, 3 again and again to make the storyline clear to me. Than I'll be prepared to play MGS4.
Too bad, MGS4 is one of the main reasons I just bought a PS3. Anyway lets just hope it will be really polished when it finally comes out! I hope Uncharted and Haze will keep me busy till april...8)

LoL.
No not lacking talent, lacking as much.
I'm actually a major Konami, Kojima and Metal Gear fan. And I mean major.
But Insomniac and Naughty Dog have REALLY been on the ball with PS3, I really don't get whats everyones issue.
This probably means the 360 version is going to launch at the same time as the PS3 version.Hulabaloza
