Metal Gear Solid 4 review GameSpot

So what do you think it will be? I personally think it will be a 10. Yes, two 10s in such a short period of time would be very unusual indeed, but I feel like GTA4 never deserved that score.

I'll definitely feel cheated if it isn't a 10. I hope GameSpot for once puts aside their Xbox360 bias!

I feel like GTAIV deserved that score.

Maybe they will give it a 8-8.5. WHy? Cutscenes are to long and it has a story, and that scares them.

Anything below 9.5 would be a total riot-generating score. I hate how GS gives scores. 0.5 increments is just...imprecise

I feel like GTAIV deserved that score.

No WAYS! I mean no airplanes, short storyline, money is pretty much USELESS ($300 000 and nothing to spend it on!), too much "hip hop"stations and no gambling!:P Sure its good but not 10 good!

i agree with you, while it is a good game (love it). 10/10 = perfect, no game is perfect

Eh gamespot, the day they give really good ps3 exlcusives games a ten, is the day i get away dating jessica alba, :P, i dont think itll happen though, this is gamespot remember, a site runned by a 360 co-manager :)

GameSpot's score system sucks anyway. It might be good for lower-rated games, but not at all good for highly-rated games. A 9.5 would be such a disappointment. But they can't really give it a 9.9, can they? So it must be a 10.metalgear-s

I dont like GS rating system. GTA4 never deserved 10/10. Its a great game but has quite a lot of bugs. a 9.3-9.6 would have been better.

10/10 would be nice for MGS4, but i would rather they tried to be realistic and give it a 9.7 as all games have faults.

i agree nothing is perfect and so is no game, 10/10 is not achievable, GTA 4 has some issues too besides some less content. every game has some ups and downs, no game can have everything just stuffed into it.

Well I find the lack of a review interesting considering that the game has been out to the public for 2 days. Plus they would had an advance copy. The mere fact that its one of the biggest games in recent times, and an exclusive for the PS3, is very odd but expected. Look at when Halo 3 came over GS couldn't do enough. The editorial staff are probably desperately trying to work out what to do. To low and their bias and creditability will be shot to bits and Sony will no doubt impose limitations on the site in relation to info, game advances etc. To high and their M$ paymasters will not be impressed. Oh dear Oh Dear. My gut says that it'll get 9.0 due to "Overly long cutscenes" or something pointless like that.

"the cutscenes were so long and drawn out.. they continued to talk while i wanted to play the game.. another fault was that Snake is old.. we dont wanna play as an old man, we wanna be muscle bound thugs with big guns, ripping people apart. Even more faults showed up in the game later on as you find out that Snake now has to wear a stupid eye-patch in Mr. Kojima's bad sense of humor to make him (Snake) look almost identical to big boss from the craptastic fest that was MGS3..."

Yeah its strange, I think they are withholding the review for one of two reasons:

1. They want to rake in traffic from ppl checking every 24seconds (like me! :P )
2. Its a really bad score and think it might affect sales! :O

It will be something like this:

"Kojima has this time created a truly perfect game. The gameplay has been improved so much since MGS3. The graphics are better than anything we've seen so far. And the story is one of a kind and ties up the series in a magnificent way. Perfect 10/10"

well if GS give MGSIV a 9 or 9.5 /10 it would still be a great score.... Honestly that 0.5 wont make any difference on the fun i'm having playing the game right now....

Hoestly, this game's comedic moments (cant mention the good ones..... spoilers!!!) simply stunned me..... and the graphics?! The best I've ever seen, these rival Crysis' graphics easily...

Youre just hyped, from screenies the graphics dont look too good imo but I dont play games for graphics, hell I still play sonic! :P

The graphics are amazing. Sure, theres a few low-res textures here and there but it doesn't distract you from the overall amazing art style and how lighting/shadows were used.

I'm loving the gameplay and story too. :P

Sadly, didn't get to play it much so far. I'm only on act 2 because I had to study for my exam :(

GTA is nowhere NEAR a 10! Only thing that deserves that score is 3D - do anything - holographic -ZOMG - coolness - (with the dirty deed option) - type of game! ;)

1. I hate when gamespot does that! It isn't enough with a community that absolutely despises the GS staff, but they'll have to keep pissing on us. Give us the review, already. Ever heard of a deadline?!
