Metal Gear Solid 4 Revive online

im curious with how you revive on metal gear solid 4, it shows the left analog moving back and forth and i do that myself, but it takes forever... whats the correct way to move the analog?

how do you know if your getting points or not, its my first day with metal gear solid 4 online and i have got about 40 kills so far.. However im still level zero. Does mgs4 have a really slow level system? or am i not in ranked matches :s ?
