Depending on what kind of mood they give the game, that could be a perfect fit... However, what has Kojima Productions been doing with the game this whole time? I wonder if it has been developed by Platinum the whole time or if they just recently passed it off.

But yeah, it's been confirmed by Jim Reilly, GameInformers current news guy.

Everything about this trailer SUCKS! The direction, music, presentation, voice acting, graphics, gameplay, character design, title font... WTF!!!???? This is not a Metal Gear game and this is NOT stealth and this is NOT Kojima quality. This is plain Sh*t!

I'm happy with this change. Platinumgames developers are good at what they do.

I think I'm going to be sick. Is this an early April Fool's joke or is this real? I don't even really know what to think. Oh the humanity!

That was beautiful man. I don't think it will be canon because it's really out there but its just what I wanted from this game the moment I heard it will be more action based. I have been a frantic action fan since Devil May Cry and although I have enjoyed many action games after it like GOW, NG, Onimusha etc but DMC the original still remains my favourite. Now, I feel MGSR will be the next evolution of the genre. I can hardly wait.

It does look great, but i hope its not like pure action and maybe put some stealth kills like tenchu >_>. But the mission briefings should be "Slash everything that moves" huh? *Forgets snake*

I'm not gonna lie, it's looks pretty damn sweet.

I don't really think you can do a "stealth" type game with a cyborg raiden, it's obvious since MGS4 that his style has totally changed, but I don't see any fault with this. They decided to take a crazy overthetop Ninja gaidenesque approach and it fits. Hope to see more.

Trailer looks nice but I have a feeling the story is going to be pretty cheesy from the corny one liners I heard from the characters. "Time to for Jack to let er rip!" Lol, we'll see how this develops in due time.As long as the gameplay is 'solid', I'll give it a shot.

MGR is not a 'solid' game:P . It was cancelled and half done. PG interested and took over to complete it.

So according to Kojima's twitter posts - and other sources - Metal Gear Solid: Rising was canceled due to complicated controls and a loss of direction. It was totally canned. But before they knew what to say about it, Platinum asked if they could take a crack at it. It looks like we should be thankful that this game exists at all.

Kojima also confirmed that this game is set after MGS4 and is not a part of the Metal Gear canon.
