Metal Gear Solid Rising is Multi-plat (PS3, X360, PC)+ PSP MGS Named

June 1, 2009- Over the weekend, Qore inadvertently let it slip thatthe PSP GO was realand coming out this fall and that a new Metal Gear was coming to Sony's portable platform. Today, it looks like that game might have gotten a name -- Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.

Over on Games Press, a site for industry professionals that gathers press releases and gaming assets, the list of games that KonamiDigital Entertainment is showing at E3 now promotes Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP with a release date of 2010.

As if that news wasn't exciting enough, the posting also states that Metal Gear Solid: Rising -- which was announced at Microsoft's E3 press conference this morning -- is coming to the PlayStation 3 and PC as well as the Xbox 360. Hopefully, Sony's E3 press conference tomorrow morning will shed some light on this whole situation.

i'm excited to play any new mgs. however if mgs4 can't be ported to x360, how can we expect Rising to be of the same quality of mgs4. I think the one for psp should be fine after all Mgs po was great.

Well he's pretty banged up. So I would assume it's before MGS4. (based on Raiden's ending in MGS4)

His ending in MGS4 kind of seemed like "he's finished too" to me. Settling down and becoming a family man with his human like body.

True. But Solid Snake as a character, had no purpose in life. He was basically waiting for the next op pretty much. Raiden wanted to break free and now that The Patriots are all wiped out, he finally can.

Also, you do remember how he was repaired by Dr. Madnar in MGS4 when he fought Vamp the first time in South America. I'm pretty sure he could've repaired his eye as well before his appearance in MGS4. That body is obviously a combat body and Raiden got a "human like" civilian body after he was damaged beyond repair after the events of Outer Haven. If I remember correctly, that scene in the hospital with Rose and his son was quite some time after the events of Outer Haven. Also, doesn't he point out that he doesn't want to be a "monster" anymore?

The vibe I got was that he was finished and finally at peace with his family.

I don't think anyone's arguing whether it could be done on the 360. Of course it can. Will some things have to be sacrificed? Probably. But it can certainly be done.

The question is should it be done, and is it worth it to be done. I would argue that the answers are yes, and yes. Everyone ahould get a chance to experience MGS4. Even 360 owners. Hell, even Wii owners should be able to, but you can blame that one on Nintendo for obvious reasons:roll:.

Peace Walker starring Big Boss is the only logic thing, since there was the picture of him on the countdown. Since there's a big wall on the E3 Kojima website, I'm sure that a poster of Peace Walker with Big Boss' face will also appear along with the Poster Rising with Raiden's face.

I guess that's the thing, everything else sounds too lame. Plus Metal Gear Solid just sounds bad-ass.

i am really wondering about that other title that kojima is working on, that mask game isn't lord of shadows is it, please don't let it be. awh god, kojima save e3 for me.

yeah it looks like there is room for more than one extragame on that poster. Obviously the big boss psp game is gonna be on there, and the mask game will be revealed, maybe a metal gear solid: existence?

I've said this before and I'll say it again, I'll trade MGS exclusivity for ME2 exclusicvity. Pay up EA.

"Metal Gear Solid" does not refer to the character "Solid Snake", otherwise the first metal gear games would of also been called "Metal Gear Solid". Solid refers to the game being in 3D

Most people just dwell on these forums. Besides, discussion is the point of forums.

I cant reallypicture how the new metal gear solid rising is going to be, in my opinion is going to be a bit odd, the fact that raiden is in it is not the problem, but the fact that he only uses a sword as far as we know is. whats gonna happen with all the equipment that we have all used in the previous games, such as magazines, claymores, box etc... but the most weird thing is going to be the fact that raiden (as far as we know) doesnt use guns at all, whats gonna happen to the m9 for example. i cant really imagine an mgs game that is so different to the ones i have always played.

I say making it multiplat will kind of lose MGS' essence... Or maybe its just me... I felt betrayed today when i found out that the MGS maker/guy sold out...

But when he said its about raiden it kind of made a happy again....
Hopefully at sony's conference, they announce another MGS just for PS3 owners (MGS 5... Come on, everyone wants it)......

HM..........I am very excited about the new mgs(really excited) but im just wondering how they managed to fit it inside dvds , does it mean that it won't be pushing the capabilites of the ps3 as much as mgs 4 did? .....Im sjut wondering though......dark-spartan

I'm thinking they'll just scale it back for the 360 version. Just like Square-Enix is scaling back on FFXIII for the Xbox 360. source

What's weird to me, is that in most multi-plat games the Xbox 360 version looks better. I heard it's because the PS3 hardware is foreign to some, but I guess native for SE and Kojima.

That's because most developers make the game on the 360, then port to the PS3. So I'm guessing that graphically, the PS3 version of MGSR is going to look better. Also look at games solely developed for the PS3 like Uncharted, easily the best looking console game of 2007, and Killzone 2 is just WOW, and MGS4 was the best looking game of 2008.
