How is that making the game casual? If anything, it would make the game harder for a person trying to accomplish a game without any human kills.

WOOT!!! This was my one concern with the game because I DO NOT want to decapitate fellow human beings. However, they way you're suppose to progress remains to be seen. Do I have to not use the sword? Do I have to just run away from everyone? Am I still required to beat the crap out of soldiers? Do I need to use a tranquilizer gun?
Anyways, this news gives me hope that i might be able to play through the game.

Yeah adding the option to not kill humans is definitely not making it casual. If you play the other MGS games on a non-lethal/no kills playthrough you will find it a bit harder than normal.evil_angel74
Well, I didn't really find it difficult just putting everyone to sleep, other guards would walk by and wouldn't freak out either.
have you been living under a rock or something?I didn't know it was comming to the 360 :o

Indeed... Because some people like playing video games but don't like killing humans. It's weird I know, but some people are like that. I assumed you haven't replied to this thread at all before this because you knew you were wrong, but maybe not. In MGS 1-4 it is much easier to bust out an assault rifle and mow the guards down than to sneak you way around with stealth takedowns and tranquilizer guns, it will most likely be no different in Rising.
Stealth is hard. Killing is easy.clicketyclickYep. The Hitman series was a good example of this truth.
[QUOTE="Fightingfan"][QUOTE="Zeldafan221"]Wait, this game has the option to be a stealth game again? It didn't seem like this was going to be a stealth game at all. Still MGS2 Raiden>Ninja Raiden. Also, how is that casualized? That makes the game harder.MethodManFTWCasual people don't enjoy killing. How does it make it any more casual than any other MGS game?
There are no longer having long cut scenes like the original MGS and they are targeting a broader audience/Mainstreaming.

True, but no kills is definitely harder.

Why does this not suprise me? The producers want the game to have more appeal and reach a bigger audience and now we get this stupid topic. Seriously the game looks awesome and at the end of the day videogames are a business so why not try and reach a bigger audience and get the your game out to more people? I have played every MGS game to date, know the story and everything and im wicked excited about Rising. Its a new concept of MGS, in a way its almost a new IP as it completelly changes the way any MGS game would pla y. U people wonder why u keep getting sequels instead of new games? Because while u all say it, none of u want change. I think Rising is a fresh idea to a concept that has been done many times and know they can continu e the MGS story by telling us about Raidens pastand introducing a fun new way to pla y.
Well from the looks of it, these guys are trying to bring it to a wider audience, they must of learned this from MGS4 which is very story driven, so you wouldn't really understand anything unless you played MGS1, 2, & 3. The little to no cutscenes part sounds a bit bs right now, I wouldn't understand why the producer would not want cutscenes in the game, how would the story develope then? The game looks great so far, but some of his decisions are a bit weird.
Oh and this thread is totally way off on the casualfied statment, you get awarded for not killing anyone in the game, that is sopposed to be harder than killing people, sounds like you don't know much about MGS, OP.
