MG/MGS4 sweet elements!! What makes you a fan?

These are my top 5 reasons why metal gear is my favorite saga and its buried deep in my heart:

1.- The fact that you can interact with enemy soldiers in a big number of ways. I like its high level of AI. for example i like the idea of playing with them by trowing them objects and the porn magazine, making noise so they can follow you, leaving footprints , etc... Oh man, i love how they react as real people thats awesome!

2.-I also like the strategy you have to come up with in order to reach an objective.

3.- the stealth element .. oooh man when you clear a level without being seen or by taking ammo/ dog tags from them. wooow

4.-top graphics

5.-excellent story and cutscenes

What makes metal gear a great game for you????

Story and gameplay.

The two reason why I play games. Such quality titles as Metal Gear had it since the first release, all the reasons why I have it in my top 5 franchise favorites of all time.

Mr. Kojima devoted his whole life to Metal Gear saga and his hard work is shown in every new MG title. I only wish more producers were as devoted to their games as he is.

Besides just loving MGS in general, the part I really love is how it is not afraid to make fun of itself. Here you have stories that have nothing to laugh about, and then we get moments like birds pooping on your face, soldier's peeing on your head, your girlfriend not allowing you to save the game cause you have been killing seagulls:lol: There is great stuff!

Besides, when was the last time you saw a secret agent using a cardboard box to move around? Specially saying that he just feels very safe inside of it:lol:

lol everything about the gameplay...it has the best gameplay for a stealth series, and you even play through the game rambo stlye with machine guns, rocket launchers, etc etc etc. I also love hows its not mission/ chapter based (Like spinter cell MEH!!!) ...................i love this game.

oh and MGS has the best boss fights EVER in gaming history.

Snake, he's the man

The Metal Gear Series is the complete package. It's got the history, graphics, gameplay, interesting story, and cool characters.

My favorite Metal Gear game that demonstrates all these qualities is Metal Gear Solid (PS1) for me that was one of the most anticipated games ever and it lived up to everything I hoped it would be and more!

The thing that keeps me comming back for more is the story. It is the best story I've ever known, whether it be a book, movie, or game. The end of every game always has me on the edge of my seat wanting more. oh, and AK47 to an enemy soldiers' nuts is a beautiful thing.anti-xbox

Amen to that brotha! I must say that is the story for me too. Hideo Kojima was born to be a genious and now he is!!! The way that the story sucks you in,It's something magical, you are left wanting for more and more and more. I don't know how to explain it.lol! It breaks what you already now about the game and brings you something new and more intriguing, exciting and fully amazing!!! MGS is so freakin' awesome!

for me its the combination of gameplay and story thats derived from current world events implementing somewhat viable technology with over the top memorable characters/boss battles.

MGS pretty much puts these elements toghether unlike any other game series. Splinter Cells nice but with that game you get a super great character with really weak/lame enemy's throught the entire game who don't utilize real world CQB/clearing techniques.

You also don't get a trully engaging story with a true sence of urgency to accommplish ur goals as you would in MGS (i.e. each objective throught a level is forgetable once completed much like the orig Doom, its like ur just moving from point A-B killing nobodey's). Simply put all other military based 3rd/1st person shooters out there are purely gameplay driven while MGS offers both in equal ammounts!
