will i enjoy metal gear solid guns of patriot if i am playing as the first game in metal gear solid series?

The game does make reference to older MGS games, I mostly noticed MGS on playstation 1. If you want, on the PS store, there's a MGS database which is free to download, and has info on all the previous MGS events. I don't think I was of much use on this issue sorry lol. You should still enjoy the game though. But I suggest reading the MGS database.
like the above poster said theres a data base, u can download off the store for free to help u catch up to previous mgs games so u can be up to date with the story. will u enjoy the game if u didnt play the rest of the others ? yea u will def enjoy the game. while u might be lost at times like H_M_1 said there are cut-scenes where it refers to older mgs games but it wont stop u from having a BEST experience with the game
If i were you i would buy MGS1 off the PSN store and then wait till November so you can buy the HD collection, MGS4 is a lot more enjoyable if you're familiar with the series.
its a masterpiece and all around good game. even if youre not familiar with the storyline from previous mgs releases its still well worth your time to play mgs4.
