ok I know everyone is all excited over MGS4 whats the big deal with the game? I've never played any of the MGS they really haven't looked all that great... are they really all that?

yes they are all that. i havent played 4 yet but judging by 1, 2, and 3, 4 is equally if not more awesome.

Exactly, youve never played them so stop complaining why people are so excited. If you played them, then you would know.

Its the best of all of them IMO. I thought Snake Eater was the best, but now that GoTP is out, its amazing. Best of all of them.

The stories will draw you in and make you love the characters, and the gameplay compliments that perfectly. Best games around.

Oh MGS4 is definately worth your time. I held off for now due to exams, but I also don't want the experience to end, it's the best game i've ever played and it's sad that it's ending, but at the same time i wanna see how it finishes.

The big deal is that there is no other game which puts this much emphasis on a story. The characters, the plots, the twists are all amazing and draw you into the game. You can connect with many of the characters and you tend to feel what they feel, just because of the way its presented. In my opinion it represents the pinacle of interactive art. Not only is the story great but the gameplay is fun and the gameplay in MGS4 is even better than the rest of the series (atleast imo). The games always have amazing boss fights and the games have always raised the bar in terms of graphics for their respective platforms whenever they are released. MGS1 as a 3D action Game. The Cinematic exp of MGS2, the large forest, with plenty of live animals in 3 and the graphics and large territories in 4 are incredible. I've never wanted to go back and play through a single player campaign as much as I want to play through MGS4 again and again.

I haven't played a Metal Gear game since the first one on the NES. I just got MGS4 today and it is awsome so far. I can't say it's the best game ever or anything becuase I haven't finished it yet. But from what I've seen so far it's not your average game. The grafix are the best I've seen on any console and I've played the best this generation has to offer.

I'm just getting into the series now. I was too young to fully appreciate how awesome the series was when the first game came out, so have been reluctant, or possibly too ignorant to try them until now, and I've got to say that they are among the BEST games I have ever played. So yeah, MGS is that good.
