I have never played mgs3, but I'm about to tonight and I'm wondering how are the graphics in this game because I'm a big graphics guy. Please compare the graphics to another game, and what I can expect.

Well the graphics aren't about poly count and texxture resolution but the small things like how things breaks, interacts (bullets making grass wave), motion capture/animations and tons of particle effects. Sound is also a very important aspect.I have never played mgs3, but I'm about to tonight and I'm wondering how are the graphics in this game because I'm a big graphics guy. they look like mgs2 but in the jungle. And after ico the graphics are imo the best on ps2I have never played mgs3, but I'm about to tonight and I'm wondering how are the graphics in this game because I'm a big graphics guy. Please compare the graphics to another game, and what I can expect.

Are you talking about Snake Eater??? If so, get MG:Subsistence, it's much better than just Snake Eater alone, (Subsistence includes Snake Eater but with a much better camera system & online modes). And the graphics are decent, but nowhere near the best the PS2 has to offer.ColoradoKindBud
The best graphics the PS2 have to offer are with God of War.

Correct.
I'll tell you have great the graphics are. In MGS3, when you are in the forest, when you run over grass, the grass moves. MGS3 has 3D grass that reacts to the player. Why is this great? Because not even the great Gears of War can say that.eclipsed4utoo
Puhlease. So now you're saying that MGS looks better than Gears??? What a laugh!!!!
And Gears of War doesn't even really have any grassy environments, it's all mostly concrete/asphalt/underground caverns, etc.Â

But still a last gen title got something which we do not even find in high profile next gen titles. I'd claim that to be something to boost about. Heck, MGS3 even tried to make 3D explosions.[QUOTE="eclipsed4utoo"]I'll tell you have great the graphics are. In MGS3, when you are in the forest, when you run over grass, the grass moves. I knew I would get a 360 fanboy with that. it's funny how you infer that Gears of War is a great visual game, yet make an excuse for when it doesn't have a graphical quality that a PS2 game has. wonder why that is? and I never said that MGS3 was better looking that Gears. I just stated a fact that a PS2 game has graphical enhancements that the great and almighty Gears of War doesn't.[QUOTE="ColoradoKindBud"][QUOTE="eclipsed4utoo"]I'll tell you have great the graphics are. you need to move around the environment of Gears a little better. there are a number of bushes/weeds/grass in alot of the levels.[QUOTE="TE_Lawrence"][QUOTE="ColoradoKindBud"][QUOTE="eclipsed4utoo"]I'll tell you have great the graphics are. If I'm not mistaken GeoW does have green areas but avoid grass because the little grass there is in the game is sprites. That's what I like about MGS games that they take a different direction than all other games and the small details like glass splintering in different ways or how ice cubes melt accordingly to how far they are away from other ice cubes. A level of analism not found in other games.[QUOTE="ColoradoKindBud"]Are you talking about Snake Eater??? If so, get MG:Subsistence, it's much better than just Snake Eater alone, (Subsistence includes Snake Eater but with a much better camera system & online modes). And the graphics are decent, but nowhere near the best the PS2 has to offer.casey7672

Not a bad choice, but to me the the answer is four words:
Shadow of the Colossus.

im sorry but nothing beats god of war or gow 2With MGS it's always best to stay out of sight as much as possible. It's a stealth tactics game. Sometimes it's fun just to start plowing the baddies away though, like in the part where you have to find kill and change into that blonde guy right before the Shagahod. casey7672
LOL what does that have to do with anything? hahaha

It's just about the best game graphically on the ps2.(ZOE2, SOTC, and okami are exceptions)

MGS 3 definitely looks better than MGS2, as for comparing it to God of War, I'd have to go with god of war it looked amazing without progressive scan, and then when you turn it on, it goes up another notch.mmirza23are you trying to say that GOW looks better than the cut scenes within MGS3?
the cutscenes in mgs3 were absolutely amazing, but so were the cutscenes in god of war, granted not as long.mmirza23but the thing is that the cutscenes in GOW were CG, while the ones in MGS3 were in real time. Not only that those same amazing realtime cutscene graphics aren't scaled down in any way when you actually play the game.(if you have subsistance then use the camera to rotate it and zoom in on snake. You'll see that nothing is downgraded in graphics when the game changes from cutscenes to gameplay)

wow, ok didn't know that, that's actually amazing on the ps2 then.
I guess they are kind of like RE4 but really the games graphics are great but the story is much better than MGS2. I wonder what would of happened had MGS2 had a good storyline because MGS2 had good graphics as well.

I thought the MGS2 storyline was pretty solid.

I think he thinks it's better because the storyline it's very complicated. MGS2 has an amazing story, but you have to pay attention or you won't know what's going on especially if you didn't play MGS1.

Why is that MGS3 online look really bad on PS3. The graphics are very bad. Should i downlad some updates or something to get a better visual graphics. Or maybe MGS3 is good only on ps2 ?That's because in comparison to the single player the devs downgraded the graphics in order for the framerate in multiplayer to stay at a reasonable number.
Thanks for the info:)
