2 hours? I don't think so. The ending is around 1 hour long.

Don't worry...your still a man even if you watch a wedding scene in a videogame.
Seriously, what a bunch of ingrateful whiners people have become. When I got MGS4 that was all I heard about was the "wedding scene" and how horrible and stupid and long it was, etc. Then when I finally got there and saw it I was like, "that's it?!" "That is what all the whining and crying is/was about?"
Maybe you should beat the other ones:P Or read up on Wikipedia, the man in the wheelchair was *SPOILERS* Zero and the man with him was Big Boss *END SPOILERS*.Guys a little help please? see i beat MGS4 but i never really understood who that dude in the wheelchair was and who was the guy with him? and what was the point of it? bear in mind this is the first MGS game ive played

Just go the wikipedia. I never played the other games except MGS: PO and I understood the story very clear though there were some stuff I didn't understand but those parts didn't have connection with the other games.Guys a little help please? see i beat MGS4 but i never really understood who that dude in the wheelchair was and who was the guy with him? and what was the point of it? bear in mind this is the first MGS game ive played

you'll see those characters in MGS 3: Snake eater. the guy in the whellchair is Major Zero and the other guy is Big Boss. Major Zero was Big Boss' commanding officer even before he became Big Boss. and that Big Boss title came after the original Snake accomplished his mission of killing The Boss (the heroine who acted as a traitor to serve her country.) the conflicts in the story started between the two of them.
A lot of the cutscenes in this game dragged on needlessly. As they tend to do in MGS games. I wish they would have used some interactive scenes. Would have made it feel less like a wait.ThePlotholeThere were interactive cutscenes... In between acts you can navigate around the plane and pick up some extra goodies with the MK.II
The ending is mind blowing. Everything in there serves a purpose wether as a background or foreground and there are some immensly profound and inspiring moments that make it quite a tour de force.
Of course, if you don't care about the characters and what they have to say, you don't and that's it, but if you do, it is like the most amazing thing you'll ever experience (yeah, sex included).
I didn't like the ending. Snake needed to kill himself to make the ending really poignant.pyromaniac223
I didn't liked it either becuase they didn't simplify stuff. I mean, I don't have a beef with a wedding scene, but even chick flicks make wedding scenes shorter lol.
And Big Boss... dear God!! Like someone said before, I was screaming inside "S.T.F.U ALREADY!!!"
Kojima really need a better editor next time :P
Its funny because ive timed the ending cut scene and its 50 minutes.Just beat the game, and the ending cutscenes have been running for 2 FRIGGIN HOURS!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WRAP IT UP!!

I guess I'm the only one who loved the cutscenes. It blended movie and game together, other than whiny Otocan.btaylor2404
Your certainly not alone man. I loved every single cutscene honestly... Granted, I had to make sure I played with some free time to spare in case I hit a long scene, but I think they were part of what made the game so great. Everybody whining about them now would probably be saying the opposite had they been shorter.
First of all I thought the ending was great because once it started showing the credits I was like WHAT THE **** this is the worst ending ever . Then It was like Big boss - (Some dude) I was like thats not right then I see Snake and then im like OOHHHHH **** this endings kicks buttoxavataraang1I disagree, i think it would of been better if snake killed him self, first i was like " WOW THT WAS AWESOME" then after the credits i was "dude wtf"

Ending would have been garbage had that happened. I would have felt like I wasted all my time investment into the story. Heroes don't kill themselves, thats for the weak.

Which he didn't need to do because the FOXDIE was neutralized by the newer one Drebin injected him with... And before the one he was injected with by Drebin could have the same effect, he'd be dead of old age.
But Snake didn't know that before Big Boss told him. In fact Snake didn't die because Bg Boss stopped him (Great timing, Big Boss!!), not because he chickened out in the last moment.

No buddy, it is definitely longer than an hour. Its 1 hour, 11 minutes.I loved the ending. It was the perfect ending for an epic game.
*WARNING - HEAVY SPOILeRS UP AHEAD!*
When snake shoot himself I felt like he shoot me in the heart. I felt so hurt inside I can't even explain. But there was something still missing, to me. There were some shadows still. You know, ths final twist that is a trademark of MGS series. But I said to myself "well, perfection isn't of this world" and enjoyed the credits. Then, when the Big Boss name appeared on the big screen I was like "huh, what is this?" and then the final cutscene began. Wonderful, wonderful is all I can say.
In the end, the real snake was big boss, and in fact snake, the real snake died in MGS4.It was something so beautiful I just can't explain. When The real credits started, I felt complete. Like, here it is. MGS4, the best game ever made.

It's just... Wow. I wanted to clap my hands for how beautiful this game was.
dont get me wrong i loved the ending, but i really had something important to do and i thought it was gonna be over any second and then bang, another 30 minutes of talking and 2 sets of credits.. i was just really frustrated cuz i was trying to leave my house but i didnt wanna skip anything
and when i said 2 hours i was counting from part that i hacked and shut down the AI servers or watever, and i counted the liquid ocelot fight as a cutscene aswell
way too long in my oppinion
I loved the ending. It was the perfect ending for an epic game.

my thoughts exactly man, congrats for a great post :)

You know what I hated? Everyone's indifference to Snake's condition. I mean the man was dieing and yet he did so much and still it seemed as if nobody cared he was about to die except maybe for Otacon. Even at the weddind nobody seemed to care where the hell Snake was, it kinda pissed me off. I was expecting he get the thanks he deserved after all these years but throughout the whole game noone seemed tp care... but still it was great none the less.

I know. But I meant within the acts. And with more direct interaction. Sorta like the cutscenes in a Half-life game.

Yeah, it definitely wouldn't hurt the experience, But MGS has always been about storytelling, just look at the 10 minute codec convos every thirty feet since the first MGS on PS1..[QUOTE="fullmontis"]I loved the ending. It was the perfect ending for an epic game.

I agree. EXCELLENT post!! I'm a 30 year old male. Let me confess here that by the time the game was indefinitely over, my chin did a dance and more than one tear rolled down my cheeks. Cheers Hideo for the most compelling, intricate, and emotional sga in video game history... HANDS DOWN!!!

Yeah, I feel sorry for the people who have to find flawes in even the most perfect of things. Just be thankful that you got to play the best game ever made.haha omg i have to agree 100% that pissed me off so much
this dude saves the world multiple times, hes about to die, and people give Snake NO FRIGGIN RESPECT!!
I actually felt bad for him thoughout the game. JUST LET THE MAN ENJOY A CIGARETTE!!

I almost forgot! The Mk. III doubles as a time machine!
