Act 4 was by far my favirote and then act 5 comes....... Now the best time I have ever had in any metal gear was MGS2 on the boat playing as Snake. So when I got onto Outer Heaven I was so stoked for an amazing inside and outside experience like no other. It started out strong and then it was over in a snap (if you don't count the 2 hours of cinematics). I was really looking forward to exploring that ship!

a friend told me that for every 10min of gameplay theres 40min of video

ill admit that the game minus the videos was very short but still well worth it and a great way to wrap up the series

Very true I just wish for the last act there would have been the same length or longer then MGS2, it was by far the shortest act for me.

That part of MGS 2 was also my favourite part of the whole metal gear series. I was hoping for more of that in MGS 4, but there wasent a moment in the game that I liked as much as the Tanker in MGS 2. I thoguht I woudl see soem of that in Act 4, but every enemy was a robot, so there wasent much sneaking.

the start of the act and sneaking all the way through the outer part of the ship was awesome, I would have loved to have a lot more of that! I managed to get all the way throug undetected after like 5 times, kept restarting everytime I got caught.

Imo it was the perfect length it got to the point had some nice twists and stuff and the button mashing bit was quality with the split screen then it was topped with an awesome boss battle, i was left very satisfied.

Actually you could sneak all the way through in that 1st part of act 5, I have managed to, it's not difficult you just have to be patient and check your surroundings and go from above.

Haha since when was MGS realistic gameplay wise? You can carry 500 guns, die and be magically revived if you have a ration equipped, infinite ammo on all guns in chase sequences, etc... but I agree that it would have been insanely hard, especially if they lengthened that first section without a checkpoint or anything.

OK, if you were a Metal Gear fan, you knew what you were getting yourself into. If not then, you must've had fair warning. MGS is MGS and nothing can change the way Hideo chooses to make his games. If he did, it wouldn't be an MGS game anymore, now would it.

SPOILERS: Ditto. I was expecting a gameover and scared to death, for Snake actually, to touch one of those electric shocking things.

You kinda HAVE to sneak all the way through I found, there were just too many enemies that were ontop of you in like 2 seconds if caught

Er, I didn't cause ONE alarm during that part. We're talking about the part where you get fired up into the ship? There's a lot of crawl spaces and what not in that area that made it easy to not get spotted if ya look. VERY great game, was semi short, didn't care if there were a lot of cut scenes because they were so vital to the story. He wrapped up ALL the questions of the previous games in one game, that's pretty impressive. Hehe.

that made no snese what you just said, all I wanted was the act to be longer like in MGS2. Really act 5 was there just to rap up the story for the most part.

Tell me about it. I was almost welcoming the game over screen just so I could do that part again and not bump into the evil walls. That was far too painful considering where he was. :'(

My first time, I just killed everything. After a while, they stop coming, I think I may have killed over 50 enemies in that small section alone, I emptied both the 5.56 and P90 bullets (around 1800 total) plus the many grenades used on Gekkos. Its doable in Normal, but hard and above is just impossible, I The Boss I just sneaked, its quite easy too, It took me 6 Mk22 bullets (there is a box with them near the beginning so it was not that bad.

The most difficult part imo is the beginning itself of the game, those 2 screens with no equipment is tedious.
