MGS4 let downs.......( they are alot for an AAAAE ) (major spoilers)

after 2 days of continous playing, i finished MGS4 and here is some of my thoughts:

1- the game is too short to be satisfying, act 3 for example is 3 parts.... the stealth part, the motorcycle part and finally the winged boss part.

2-although the plot is very good, well done, exciting and surprising, it is extremely complicated, at least for me...... the plot also needs an awareness of the previous chapters.

3-one major letdown was the music, the sound tracks are well done but i didn't get emotional at all, compared wz the MGS 1, MGS4 is very poor and pathetic in this aspect, and this was reflected on the death scenes of the characters, Noami, Eva, L. Osolot...etc death scenes were very poorly done, this is the 1st time i didn't feel very emotional wz the characers deathes, i used to get emotional wz even the bosses deaths i.e. sniper wolf in MGS1, fortune in MGS2.

4- some scenes were really stupid like meryl and akiba marriage proposal....etc.

the game overall gave me the best video game experience game i have ever had, but i was expecting more from the final chapter in this gr8 plot, the game weren't as emotional as the other games in the series, that was the major letdown for me.

This thread loses all credibility, that was a sick scene! Them rolling around, trading ammo, getting shot over and over but staying alive with the power of their love! :P :P :P

1. MGS4 actually took me longer to beat than the previous ones, and even the short parts are enjoyable.
2. I'm gonna have to agree with this. Unless you know the previous story, MGS4 won't make a whole lot of sense.
3. The music during the last boss fight alone shows that MGS4 had great music.
4. ...yeah, some of them were pretty stupid, but that's Kojima for ya. Least there were some good funny parts, and a lot of references to the older MGS fans.

To me, the biggest let down was the graphics, they're great but overhyped, the character models are stunning but some of the environments don't look that great, like in the 2nd act.

Also, it's not in HD, only sub HD, though it has AA, so I don't mind.:P

ummm, the only way this game could be short is if you play it like a third person shooter which ISNT THE WAY YOU"RE SUPPOSED TO PLAY IT !

it took me 20hrs to beat, the only time i touched a gun was with the bosses, I forgot about drebin's shop altogether

I'm about 50/50 on this, brilliant game, wasn't perfect though.

I actually agree with most of what you say. I think some of the cutscenes were just way too long like the introduction to Drebin. Seriously, he sells laundered guns and has a monkey, that's all we need to know!Duckman5

I think mgs4 kinda suffered from the same thing advent children did. It was very long winded cause it was made to be a huge bit of fanservice. I loved both but have to admit they could have used alot of trimming. I didn't really care much for drebin either. Instead of his little emotionless rambling about the bnb squad I would rather have them do flashbacks from the girls' point of view. I mean it would be way more emotional that way instead of his monotone voice going "this is so sad. She kept laughing. sad sad sad."

I enjoyed all 3 houra of gameplay and 6 hours of movie. I got a lot of enjoyment out of MGO till I learned about all the glitching and lagers

well in act 3 there were going to have an escort mission with big mama through the sewers but they thought people would hate that.

since you mention it, the game has medicore textures..........regarding the music, i said it is ok, but when compared wz the other games in the series, itsweaknesses arise (in MGS 1 i like the ending music alot, that i listened to it thousands of times,the combination of a death scene wz a good music in MGS 1 was fantastic, BUT in MGS4 every time a character would die, they just shut all the music down, having 1 or 2 cutscenes wz good sound tracks doesn't mean the overall music is good...........i didn't play MGS online yet...........i dun think MGS4 is as long as MGS3, the game isn't long enough.

again the biggest letdown for me was that i didn't care for the death of any character bacause of the non existant music and the somehow stupid scenes.

This game has many campy/cheezey parts ... its a MGS game and Kojima likes to add those little things in.Like the part about changing the Disc ... i mean really you gotta just take some of it as amusement.And its been in there since mgs1, stupid funny parts that is.I personally thought the proposal scene while kinda corney ... it was pretty BA as well.
