MGS4 or GTAIV?

Alright, for those of you who keep up with my blogs and comment on them, you all would know that for the past week or so I have been trying to choose what I should get for my birthday, but I needed the help of some of you guys. I have narrowed the list of things I could buy down from five items to just two items. They are MGS4 and GTAIV. All I am asking is that you guys vote as towards which game is worth more for me. Here is some information on myself:

1) I have never played a Metal Gear Solid game before.

2) I have a little brother who may want to play GTAIV, but, I'm afraid that my parents will go off at me for letting him play a game like that.

3) I can only get one of the two games (That's how annoying my parents are).

Also, please give a reason for why you think the game you chose is better suited for me. Thanks! :)

I would have recommended you MGS4 for sure until I read that you've never played a MGS game before. Not that it'll spoil this great game or anything but it'll simply be your safest bet to choose GTAIV, which is slightly less enjoyable but with a little more replay value, just in case you don't get into Solid Snake's world.

In the end, both are equally great games but eventually, you'll prefer one! Mine is MGS4.

Get GTA later when it's at a cheaper price if your parents are really that strict about getting you games.

well..in my opinion u should get mgs4..I own both games and I dont think gta 4 deserved a 10..mgs4 deserved an 11 in my opinion..also the online in mgs4 is better..the online in gta4 is kinda lame..i have also never played an mgs game (except for mgs4) and even though I did have moments where the story was a little tough to understand I pretty much understood most of it..

Get MGS4 it is a much better game than GTAIV and it is definately replayable. Before playing I recommend reading up on the how the game should be played. Its all about stealth. The game also has a tutorial mode so you can master the controls.

I plan on playing 14,893 more times. LMAO

MGS4 is one of the best games ever! great story, great gameplay, get it and maybe look up stuff about the first 3 so that you know a little about the stories of those games.

GTA4 is a great game as well, maybe you could buy it at a later time in your life.

well both games are great in there own way for me i played both i liked mgs4 a lot more for story and play, u can replay mgs4 until u beat it on big boss., then after that not so muuch as someone stated online is garbage. GTA4 is good open world enviroment always can just go play around killing there is a variety of things you can do or find in this game. I would suggest maybe see if you can find a used gta4 and try and convince your parents to buy both if possible. But in your situation i would get gta4 if anything but i liked mgs4 more.
