Will mgs5 be a flop without solid snake:)))

as long as the gameplay is good, i could care less who i play as..
so no, the lack of snake doesn't not make the game an automatic flop..

you mean MGS5 without a Snake will flop. Solid Snake was not in MGS3 and yet MGS3 is one of the best games of all times. And no not necessarily, even if Snake is not in the game, Kojima will manage to make another masterpiece somehow. By the way, he might not be playable but this doesn't mean we're not going to see him or hear of him at least. He is the hero of the 20 years old franchise.
While Snake would be a great loss to the series, MGS5 without him would still probably be one of the best gamesavaliablewhen it came out.
MGS2 stars as raiden not snake and yet id didnt flop.. well i agree with you though, snake not in MGS5 is lacking something
MGS5 = Metal Gear Solid 5
If there were no snake, it would be Metal Gear + something else. Also I liked Raiden in MGS2, he wasn't strong but tried hard to imitate snake. So, I think flopping wouldn't be an issue.
The Solid in title doesn't relate to Snake whatsoever.MGS5 = Metal Gear Solid 5

People should understand this. The Solid in Metal Gear Solid doesn't refer to Solid Snake....they added the Solid becasue it's in 3D now or something like that. But i don't know...i don't want an another MGS without snake...BlackLaser555
Well, that may be 1/2 the reason, but it's no coincidence that the title shares the codename of the lead character. I doubt it would have been named Metal Gear 'Solid' if there was no Solid Snake.
i don't even think there will be an MGS gae without Snake on it... maybe a MG game with a new lead... and its success will depend on how Master Kojima will make it... how many people have really been into Snake before MGS1? i mean, Snake is not as famous during the early releases of the game... also, a lot of people think that Raiden was kinda lame in MGS2, who suddenly became a lot cooler in MGS4... it all depends to Mr. Hideo Kojima! Will mgs5 be a flop without solid snake:)))

It does to a degree, but that's not the point that I was trying to make. The solid saga is the most important part of snake's adventure and probably the end. My point was that placing "solid" in the title would be relating to snakein some way or form, hence why I said another Metal Gear would only place connections to events of previous games (just like MGS did with MG).

You need to remember that "Snake" was just another game character who climbed the ladder of cool and appeal. He built his reputation over 20 years. Kojima could make another character we could all bow down to in the next 5-10 years. You'll see. You will remember this historic post! :)no cause the game-play will be similar to mgs4, unless they do something totally different which i doubt furthermore since its a metal gear game itll probably have all the crazy storyline twist. the only thing that will be different is the skin on the character u play and kojima might even give u solid snake's skin just to play as him so for me it definitely wont be a flop

Totally agree. If they could make an idiot like Johnny actually look cool by the end of MGS4 then they can make you like whoever they throw in the game. It all just depends on how BA they are. Either way, I don't think MGS will flop without Solid Snake. He'll be sadly missed, but I know his time has passed. And I'm sure Kojima will throw him in there in some form or another. You can count on it. Maybe he'll take Cambel's role as your mission contact? Maybe, if its a prequel, you'll come across him in the battlefield like in MGS2? There's no telling. But I assure you a game without Solid Snake will not be a flop. Because with or without Solid Snake its still Metal Gear! ;)I hope Kojima does something other than MGS. Give the guy a break, he wants to do other stuff. Let him do the other projects he wants to do. Damn the nerds who threaten his life because he said he wasn't going to direct MGS4.

It's not him bro, it's the greedy bastards he works for.

SOLID in MGS means 3D and not the protagonist. MGS3 had SOLID in its title name but did not feature "Solid" Snake. ;)

Yes I know that. And MGS3 did in fact relate to solid snake (indirectly).
It's possible that a MGS5 game may appear, but without relations to solid snake, it would just be metal gear game without a symbol.
Overall it all depends on Kojima, whether he chooses to integrate "snake" or not.
