So far, which do you prefer?
I think MK9's Story was better than MvC3's and easier to get into, but MVC3 for me was very enjoyable, but the challenge tower provides more entertainment.

Hmm.. I guess MVC3 so far since I have played it so much.. Once I play a bunch of MK9 online I'll be able to make an informed decision.. MVC3's netcode is pretty much flawless for me, with no lag and whatnot.. I want to play some King of the Hill matches on PSN and see if there is any consistent lag or anything of that nature.. Characters is a toss up for me... Mortal Kombat has a krazy nostalgia factor for me and all the characters are pretty awesome, but as you know I read a bit of comics so I love all the Marvel characters in MVC3... Gameplay goes more towards MK9 so far for me.. Where I know the gameplay in MVC3 is superior technically but I prefer to be able to sit back and relax when I'm playing my games instead of 100% concentration the whole time... That factor can also make MVC3 for satisfying, but a lot the time more frustrating as well.. Yeah single player wise MK9 dominated MVC3... I loved MK9's lengthy story and I'm about 150 rungs up the Challenge tower so far.. Compared to MVC3 which only has standard arcade with 2-4 comic panel endings and the totally boring mission mode.. Kind of sounds like I like MK9 better but if it ends up having terrible connection problems and whatnot on PSN that would definitely make me play MVC3 more.

MK9.. Its jam packed with singleplayer content and unlockables.. From a extremely involved singleplayer storymode, the typical arcade mode.. Numerous unlockables including costumes.. (Unlike Capcom, these costumes are free).. The line up is large and diverse, the game is brutal and the dev has said they will consistently update it for balance purposes in attempts to make it a extremely competitive game.. The multiplayer from what I have played and seen is far better in being able to have lobby rooms, tag teams, ingenious challenge related system.. To me MK9 is pound for pound a superior fighting game.. Outside of a large cast and good action, MVC3 is just too barebones for a fighter.. With a pointless arcade mode and a absolutely LAME conclusion cut scene with the character.. The multiplayer also is awful of blind pick fighting in which you can not be a lobby of people for endless combat etc etc..

The online did have lag. All I played was King of the Hill. The more people who were in the room the more laggy it was. They're most likely going to release a patch for it but MVC3 has beat online as of right now. However King of the Hill actually lets you watch the fight while waiting :P

Own both but I love MK9 a lot more. I just like slower paced fighting games in comparison to the fast paced ones.

MvC3 was fun and all, but I like MK9 better. MvC3 is full of super heroes and other comic book characters, which I'm not into at all. The only 3 characters who I liked a lot were Dance, X-23, and Zero. I just like the gritty visuals of MK9, and I love the characters, gameplay, and brutal violence. It gets my vote.

Mortal Kombat is the worst of the fighting game genre I dont see why people like it so much. My roomate bought MK9 and i tried to play it and i hate the way it plays. i really enjoyed MvC3 it is not the best fighting game but it is a lot of fun to play and has cool fast past combat.

Mortal Kombat hands down. I own both, bought both of them on its release day, but I just can't put MK down.

I will have to say MK9, easy.

It just feels much deeper than MvC3, and the battles has better flow to them.

Both are equally fantastic games in their own way. But will have to say Mv3, i feel a lot more rewarding (in a sense) when i pull of a crazy combo in Mv3 then in MK9.

if you would have asked me this question before both games were release, I would have said hands down marvel 3. however now that I have played them both, its no doubt MK. there's just so much packed into that disc, I felt I got more than my moneys worth. and before anyone ask, I'm the biggest capcom fighter fan. I've bought so many different versions of street fight its not funny. free alt. customs and the crypt system they have for unlocking all those neat extras is brilliant, unlike marvel 3 where I'm surprise capcom didn't charge us extra for endings. anyways what I really believe make MK shine is the story mode, I was pretty hooked. definitely best story mode in a fight game I've ever played.

Hmmmmmm that is a difficult one. I think both games are utterly brilliant! But if i had to say out of the Two, Mortal Kombat takes the cake. It is easier to play in my opinion and has alot more features compared to MvC3. Although i do think MvC3 online play is better at the moment, keeping in mind ive only been able to play MK on the 360 because of this PSN situation which blows... But MvC3 is alot less laggy than MK as of right now, but i suppose NetherRealm will need time to sort that.

kind of surprised about hearing of lag with the online. I was only able to play it briefly for the one day that I had it before this whole psn fiasco, but I didn't see much lag at all.

mvc3 was good but i am not really a fan of mk until now, you have a boatload of extra content that will keep u trying to unlock everything i'm tired of capcoms cheap dlc practice's plus the gore in mk9 is great.

MVC3 is a really good fighter. But Super will be the best version of that. MK9 has alot of new shiny factor to it.
