MLB 09 the show Starting pitcher question ?????

why is it that every time my pitcher fields a ground ball and i hit O to throw to 1st..and he throws it to 3rd....ive been trying other buttons but X goes hom and square threw it to second ????? im in fear for the life of my controller and tv screen if this keeps up someone please help hahaha

are you playing Road to the Show mode? if so the buttons get reversed from normal, to be as if you are in the field facing the catcher. so Square goest to 1st instead of 3rd; Circle goes to third instead of 1st, and X goes to 2nd instead of home like it would during a normal game
