mod just locked an unti-racism thread!

The thread's name is: Racism and shaming in gaming! take action

In the tread, people are honestly discussing what to do about racism in online play, but mod lost_wraith says:

1. it's a system war topic.

2. It started a flame war.

I now highly question why the mod sees this topic the way he does...

1. lol.. why is racism a system war topic is beyond me. The topic creator honestly pointed out that although this racsim happens more often on xbox360, it clearly affects PS3 users too. And the topic creator wants to urge poeple take action against racism. And some how, our "beloved" mode Lost_Wraith would believe that racism is not worth discussing, not worth fighting for. By locking the thread, he clearly wants to shut poeple off and dare I question because he's one of the xxxcist?

I wrote the mod about why he closed this good thread, and here's his reply:

Those are the rules- you cannot cross-mention platforms on a specific board and I got to that topic because of all the reports of flaming. But it was locked because you cannot compare systems on a system specific board- it's always been that way. Again, I got to that topic based on all the reports coming in about it.

Look at his wording, "it was locked because you cannot compare systems on a system specific board". The problem is, nobody compared the damn two systems! Everyone just saying that racism is a problem in online gaming community!

And guess who would report this thread to mod in the first place?! It's the trolls who shouldn't even come to ps3 thread in the first place.

You forgot he also said:

"'nuff said"

What's that about? Seems unnecessary.

I find the mods don't actually consider the context of the posts, they just generalize, lock, and point deduct.

ALot of good comment posed in that thread through,,,,but bottom line is "Sticks and Stones make break my bones, but WORDS will never hurt me" Unless you are really weak. Should have learned that in the 3rd grade!!!!

For the people who take offense, thank the stars you live in a county that actually protects minorites. Becasue I think there are only a few!!!!!

Words are the least of ones problem if you are a minority and travel to a majority of the places if the world!!!!

Yes, someone mentioned the other live, but he did it by saying it's a problem concerning all online play. Heck, he could've have said PC online too!

Just because America is better at protecting the minorities doesn't mean it can't improve, does it?

Racism is a form of ignorance. Ignorance breeds more ignorance. That's how things go bad. Impressionable minds may hear this stuff online and think it's alright to use. Lord help the one that decides to practice the new found coolness in the presence of those who don't appreciate it.

Yes, Racism is terrible on online games and yes those were great ideas posted in that thread, but I think you would agree with me that the topic was just asking to be flamed by posters who disagree intirely.catfishmoon23

Yes good point, but how many threads involving Racism have you been in that have never been bombarded by ignorant people flaming others left and right?

Happens often; One day your posting in a thread, the next you go back to it and its locked shut for no reason, atleast the mod said something, most of the time one of em just creeps up and knifes the topic in the neck.

Its ironic when you consider that sheer troll threads seem tobe up for ages getting atlteast 10 pages and 100 reports before a mod decides its time to end the chaos...

one tiny mention of the you-know-what system and the thread is closed...

I understand why the mods locked it.

This is a playstation 3 board. Not voice your opinions on racism matters. I understand racism is an important thing to talk about and how to eliminate it. But it doesn't belong on a playstation 3 board. Racism matters should go into a general discussion board or something.

This topic should be locked too.
