I haven't seen any impression threads and even thought I don't have the beta, I would like to know how it's going for the people that have it.

Anyone who got lucky enough to get into the beta please post your impressions on the beta.

Also post anything that you have problems with, or things that you like about it.

It took me forever to download the beta. I think my girl accidently turned off the power switch, so when it was finish downloading, the install always stopped at 15%. I deleted it and downloaded it again and I'm about to play it in like 10 minutes. I hope it's fun.

I hate when people whine about some lag in betas.

It is a bloody beta, you should expect some (heck allot of lag) in the beginning.

The original purpose of Betas (before they became the gamer equivalent of bribes) is to fix problems (like lag).

It is a bloody beta, you should expect some (heck allot of lag) in the beginning.

The original purpose of Betas (before they became the gamer equivalent of bribes) is to fix problems (like lag).

You are right but it is also unexpected to have unbearable lag.

It's the dev's job to make sure it's atleast playable.

I am pretty sure they don't just release a beta without playing it for them selfs first.

Finally got to play it and it's pretty cool. I like the concept, the customization, and I think it has potential. They just really need to work on the networking. I hope they also have some awesome single player tracks, powerups, and sell it for less than $30.

I actually had a blast playing in the Beta. Granted somethings need getting used to like getting into races and stuff but once you get the hang of it everything becomes second nature. I'll pick this game up for sure.

Wow really? Even i found it really easy to do things. The opening even shows you where to go to do whatever. The menu layout is pretty simple, and the creation tools for the maps seem to be quite easy. Though i do have problems with it. I noticed a bit of lag yesterday, but not so much today. Although after awhile today i wasn't able to connect online. Other than some long load times though i'm having a pretty good time.

I dont think people know what a beta is or for. Its not a demo.Knivez0r

Of course a lot of console betas that should exist aren't used correctly. Endwar for example. A beta is for us to give developers feedback on the game and for them to try and fix the problems. A lot of betas will have patches (testing to see if they fixes work), but for Endwar they just said "screw that" and never tried fixing anything. After four days I am sure we found majority of glitches, but we still had almost two weeks of just seeing the same glitches again and again and again. Now they may have fixed it on release, but for that they should just have had a demo with a feedback page on their website. It would have been just as useful.

Didn't let me play online, but the customizations are good for the people and karts, the levels are even better because they give you all the options like littlebigplanet, but without the frustration and time consumption. Steering needs to be read better, felt like hard turns didnt register well. The power-ups kinda made it too heckit, needs more variety in it's power-ups, pretty much everything is blow the crap outta the guy right in front of you.

It's easier to create a professional looking level than LBP but you can't create your own objects and when I hosted my own casual race there didn't seem to be an option to invite a friend. The character creation is better than LBP and the kart creator is good and easy to use as well. The actual racing is very fun but there doesn't seem much point to the brakes when drifting is easier to use and gets you turbo. I really think seeing other players in the modspot is cool. When I selected the player list though it didn't show my friend even though he was playing it. Overall this will be a fun kart racer they just need to make it easier to join a friend like in LBP. I've got a spare beta code if anyone wants it add me on psn fishyDude1994 don't bother sending me a PM on gamespot though because I rarely use it.

creating levels, karts, mods is simply amazing...the level creating is just awesome...its simple, not like lbp....

Mario Kart meets LBP. That's pretty much the only way to describe it lol. Yes, it's laggy, really long load times, but this will probably be fixed. Other than that, i quite like it.

The concept is cool, customization is awesome, races are fun but really difficult (AI is really punishing), menus are fine, really long load times, online is sometimes very laggy. Lets pray so SCEA will fix all this issues by the time they release the game, this demo its just a BETA, it's supposed to have issues lol. But in the overall, the game is very fun and funny and I'm really looking forward to it. For the fans of Mario Kart this game is perfect.

I think its pretty cool as well, a lot of connectivity issues and lag and stuff like that but its a beta, I'm sure they are working out these things as it rolls along. Game's got a lot of potential if you ask me once its running smoothly, got a great exclusive on our hands.
