...to be better than Gran Turismo 5. MNR looks alright and pretty fun but i cant see too many people getting it over GT5.

They have two completely different audiences that to compare them is ridiculous in my opinion. They are certainly not going to compete against each other. One is a racing sim, the other is an arcade racer in the genre of "play, create, share" that LBP created.

I also think that you can't comprare them. MNR is just a mix of Mario Kart and LBP and since I like both, I'll sure get it. I won't get GT5 though since I'm not into those ordinairy SIM (I can get somewhat into games where you can tune your car as it has somehow rpg elements in it xD)
I don't really see a point for discussion here. GT5 guys are of course going to buy GT5, or they wouldn't be GT5 guys. Also the argument that a lot of MNR buyers will buy GT5 too can easily be turned around. There's room in the market for both. No need to create a competition that, to be frank, just isn't there. Some of you people can really be useless at times. Obviously the two are very different but they are still racing games. I think what this game has to do to win over any potential GT5 buyers is develop a strong community thing. But pretty much any GT5 guy is going to buy GT5 and a lot of MNR buyers are going to buy GT5.

Yeahhhhhhh........... What??? Are you seriously comparing both games??

i think the TC needs to change his topic to "what would MNR have to do to prevent people from buying GT5"

No, I think the TC should not have made this thread in the first place. These games are aimed at completely different audiences. You can't compare apples and oranges. The fact that they're both racing games does not validate a comparison/discussion.You nailed it.They have two completely different audiences that to compare them is ridiculous in my opinion. They are certainly not going to compete against each other. One is a racing sim, the other is an arcade racer in the genre of "play, create, share" that LBP created.

Besides the fact that you race, they are too completely different games. And in my opinion, Mod Nation Racers looks better (I'm talking about gameplay, although MNR does have a neat graphical design in my opinion.)
I highly doubt that these two titles are competing for the same customers. I'm getting both, but I barely consider them to be in the same genre. MNR is a game I will enjoying creating tracks for, and playing with my wife. GT5 is the game I'll be whipping out my G25 cockpit for and passing mofo's online.
