Now that Monster Hunter Portable 3 (the first in a series of PSP games being HD ported to PS3) has been announced, will this turn the western gaming audience into rabid MH players like in Japan?

Check out the Video

They've fixed camera control with the right-stick and the games are save compatible so you could play the same game on your PSP or PS3 (not sure about mixed multiplayer though).

Are you keen?

since it's going to be on psp as well, will it be on the soon to be old psp, the new one, or both? Either way I'll be getting it to play on the ps3 since this is something I've been wanting to do every since the release of Monster Hunter Freedom.

I seriously can't believe that there's not more love for MH in the US. MH is my dream game. There is so much to do in these games it's incredible. Plus they're actually challenging. Glad to hear MH3 has been confirmed, but honestly I don't care if I can play it on PS3 or not. I'm happy taking it with me wherever. If Capcom knows what's good for them they'll drop some cash on some advertising and get the series the attention it deserves.

Not sure if americans will support it more, but what Sony is doing is very interesting. Many people will pick up Monster Hunter Freedom 3 for both systems. Sony just needs to make sure it stays exclusively on Sony hand helds so that it will not get watered down. If people want to play Monster Hunter on the go they need a PSP or NGP.

Stop being so backwards. There's a better chance of Monster Hunter being supported more in America if there are games released for the more popular consoles. Nintendo handhelds are more popular than Sony handhelds, and when Tri was released for the super popular Wii, Monster Hunter users in America leaped by a ton.

It's just a matter of speculation right now, Capcom hasn't said anything about a localization yet, and I'm not sure they ever will.

quick question: so when they say you can play on either machine, does that mean you have to buy for the psp and ps3? Or is it buy 1 and have downloadable content for psp maybe like what portal did with ps3 and PC. Cause to the rabid fans, im sure they will buy both, but to the average person who just wants to play it (like me) will probably only buy the ps3 version. Also, does anyone know if its gonna be playable on the psp1000? Cause thats what i got

There will be a PSP copy and a separate PS3 HD copy...not sure if both will come packed together, but their will definitely be 2 versions.

Not interested in this reissue at all. BUT I am VERY interested in the Metal Gear and Valykeria reissues
