Actually, it does change according to month.

j/k,  It changes to the time of the month as far as i know, i didnt know about day

It gets darker at night, brighter in the daytime.

It gets darker at night, brighter in the daytime. 

Okay...so in summary, during the day (according to theinternal time set), the color corresponds to the monthly theme.  For example, the color for the month of May is green.  Then, at night, the PS3 background is black.  I never thought of it in those terms.  Anybody now what time the change is made?  I was playing Resistance a few hours ago (maybe 5:00 or 6:00 PM) and my background was black.
