More greatest hits on the way

If there's one thing better than great games, it's great games at discount prices. Take this as unconfirmed for now, but it appears that French online retailer Micromania knows something the rest of us don't: the dates and titles of the next batch of games to be inducted into the Platinum Hall of Fame.

Along from some PSP games like Resistance: Retribution and LocoRoco 2, the following PS3 games all feature in their list along with when we're likely to see them in those gaudy yellow boxes.

• Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – June 9th
• Dragon Age: Origins – July 1st
• Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time – June 10th
• Colin McCrae DIRT 2 – June 9th
• WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 – June 4th

Those are going Platinum Hits in Europe, it doesn't mean they'll be going Greatest Hits in North America.

I'm sorry but I just can't stand the ugly yellow 'platinum' boxes. It's good that they're lowering prices and all but I'll still go for the original. Am I the only one or do I just have mild OCD :lol:

I don't see why they wouldn't

KIllzone 2 and Resistance 2 were platinum in europe for a year before they became greatest hits in the US.

Wow if this is true then I guess I will finally try my hand at the Ratchet and Clank series. Any advice on if i should play others first or what ps3 one is the best?

Because they are different markets. SCEE is responsible for adding Uncharted 2 to the Platinum Hits line, but it's SCEA that's responsible for whether or not Uncharted 2 gets added to the Greatest Hits line.

Uncharted 1 was a Platinum Hit in Europelong before it ever made it to Greatest Hits in NA, and there are other Platinum Hits that aren't Greatest Hits yet, like Heavenly Sword.

No you were right, eligability is based on worldwide sales, but it's down to the regional branches to decide if they want to make a game a Platinum/Greatest Hits title and drop the price in their region.

Awesome! This will give me a chance to pick up Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time. Already got Uncharted 2 and Dragon Age. They have been releasing very accurate Greatest Hits lately :)

I thought the same thing, but then looked at amazon and the game is ONLY 34.99 so 29.99 really is not much different.

Wow most of those only came out last year sales most have got very low really quick

I hate platinum boxarts, it ruins the look, so I just buy the normal one ;)
